    Growlers......what's your approach

Cool, thanks to you both for the replies. I might try the PET bottle options first as I already have a carbonation cap that I have used for cleaning beer lines. The mini keg is a great idea but I might try out the cheaper option first given I won't likely do this a huge amount. I may get to...

    Question for all tilt users

I have my ferment fridge in the garage. I have a raspberry pi zero which I intend to use for regular logging at some point (re when I can be bothered to set it up). At the moment though I just have the Tilt app on my mobile. I tend to check my fermentasaurus every day anyway to see what is...

    Growlers......what's your approach

Hi all I am progressing with my homebrew experience and so far (only 4 FWK brews in) am loving the experience. I jumped straight into kegging as I couldn't be bothered with the whole bottling process and its working well. I am interested in what the community do for when they are heading away...

Rehydrating dry yeast: what to look for.

Thanks for the replies gents. One of the biggest time consumers for me when I am doing my FWK's is waiting for the temperature of the water I have boiled to come down to 30-35C before rehyrdating the yeast. It would be a massive bonus not to have to do that if still able to yield the same results.

Rehydrating dry yeast: what to look for.

Hey Weal and Schikitar, Do you guys predominantly only use dried yeast when brewing? If you don't then what do you do with liquid yeasts? I am only 4 FWK's in and so far every yeast has been dried which I have rehydrated. Curious as to what needs to happen when (and if) I use a liquid yeast...

Dry hopping .... use a bag or not?

So........I dropped into the fermentasaurus the 85g of first hops yesterday evening. Reading elsewhere I read that high krausen could be anywhere between 2 - 6 days (LHBS shop said after two days) but the foam appeared significant when I dropped it in. Also the SG had dropped from 1.052 down...

Dry hopping .... use a bag or not?

And purge with CO2 or just throw in and leave?

Dry hopping .... use a bag or not?

Just expanding on this a little..... I am about to ferment out a NEIPA that I bought in a fresh wort kit. I have two packs of hops to pitch and the LHBS advises one goes in at high krausen so likely day 2 or 3 and the second pack goes in around day 7. (They are going into a Fermentasaurus as...

    Keg King kegerator series 4

Hey JoaB (or anyone else for that matter) Can you provide a link to the calibration instructions for the fridge as I haven't done this and suspect mine is out. I did manage to find time to get 3 beers fermented, kegged and serving but calibration .......gotta bit lost in the mix. Must have my...

    Keg King kegerator series 4

Cool, thanks. I am also using 4mm EVA Barrier from Kegland but don't have duotight or john guest fittings. At this stage unless there is a very cheap option to swap a barb for a compatible duo tight fitting I will just need to go with a trial and error solution as I don't want to have to...

First ever brew in the Fermentasaurus, do I cold crash and next steps

Similar to mc666 then. Aletheist mentioned that if you added CO2 to around 10 psi then just as you start the crash then it may not suck the sides in....or at the very least reduce it a bit. All great tips.

First ever brew in the Fermentasaurus, do I cold crash and next steps

So you just replace the airlock with the PRV at the relevant time and away you go? Interesting.....

First ever brew in the Fermentasaurus, do I cold crash and next steps

Thanks Aletheist, I think what I will do is to throw the pressure kit on at the time of crashing. I can always purge when I swap the lid over to try and reduce oxygen getting in and once purged I can pressurise to 10PSI and then start the crash. Going forward I think I may start to use the...

First ever brew in the Fermentasaurus, do I cold crash and next steps

Hi all Apologies for the exceptionally tardy response since I first posted this. The wheels fell off various things and its taken a while to find the right glue to get them back on but they are and were off and running again. So I completed the first brew and it turned out great as far as I...

Converting a 2 tap font to a 3 tap font

Hi all I have a 2 tap font that came as part of my kegerator series 4 that I bought a while back. So far I have been using the kegs but with pluto guns rather than the taps that came with the kegerator. Now though I want to change that and have the taps running out the top of the fridge. I...
