    Galaxy 2017?

https://www.hoppydaysbrewingsupplies.com.au/product/galaxy-hop-pellets-2016-t-90/ I believe Brewman has this years crop too. Edit- National Home Brew also have them.

A quick survery for those who have never entered a homebrew comp

Thanks Martin. Just had a look over the score sheets and you're spot on. One of the 3 judges was certified. That certainly changes my perspective.

A quick survery for those who have never entered a homebrew comp

I agree mate, nor do have a solution, but simply being human can cause wildly varying perceptions thus, sometimes making score sheets near useless if one wanted to use them to improve their beer.

A quick survery for those who have never entered a homebrew comp

^^ Absolutely . Subjectivity can make it difficult to take much away from certain aspects of the score sheets . The beer I entered into a comp was judged by one of 3 judges as highly carbonated , 2nd as moderately and 3rd as low carbed. One said quite fruity and another claimed no fruitiness ...

A quick survery for those who have never entered a homebrew comp

I've entered one HB comp, basically just for ***** 'n' giggles , but also for the feedback on a style I'd never attempted before. Generally I'll ask for feedback from other brewers locally though, if the beer is slightly obscure ( a rauchbier I did recently for example ). And finally , I rarely...

Recipe suggestions for using up surplus ingredients

You could do something like: Mash the munich and 300g of crystal at 66c for 1 hour. Use kit....Aussie Pale, Lager, draught will work ect. Do a small 10 minute hop boil with cascade to 35 ibu total, with the liquor from the mash, taking into consideration the ibu contribution of the kit...

    Survey results

Those who drink craft beer, and also home brew, would be inclined to brew AG because they're wanting to create beer as tasty and varied as the beer they often pay a small fortune for.

Which hop is best for double IPA?

Or save the huell for something else. I've used it in faux lagers with good results. Would also go well in some wheat beers, saisons and golden ales.

Which hop is best for double IPA?

Huell melon is very mild. You'd need a shitload in a big flavoured beer for it to come through .

Hi - homebrewer moving to Australia

It's not just the metric system you'll have to grapple with, but also spelling....Litre for example. Don't worry though, we don't send people to gaol or anything for not spelling correctly . Seriously, welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy Sydney and the Aussie HB scene .

Help, fermentation seems stuck on Wal's kit

I'd bottle after 3 weeks of stable gravity . Using P.E.T bottles?

    BIAB - first go NQR

Yeah, 100% pilsner. You won't know your efficiency, so using a modest 70% would be a good starting point. When your maiden AG is done you will have a clearer picture of an appropriate efficiency to plug into your software. If your beer ends up a bit stronger /weaker on your first batch, you'll...

    A Return to Kits

If you want to give AG a go, have a squiz at this thread. Comparative beers made with AG ingredients are cheaper if using Aussie base malts than kits n bits brews.http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/38674-move-to-all-grain-for-thirty-bucks/
