    Am I staling my beer?

Thats not how i would interpret it. I think most would agree that perc, brewery cleaner or other perc blends for cleaning, rinse and then star san or other branded no rinse santisers for santising is best practice.

    Am I staling my beer?

I consider perc a cleaner not a no rinse santiser. The residual perc would be in effect cleaning your beer. Search how perc cleans and i think you will shocked at what its doing to your beer

    Help with bru water setup

Yes. Just be careful of using too much acid malt along with lactic acid as excessive amounts of lactic acid can effect flavour. For this reason I use acid malt in the mash and phosphoric acid in the sparge water

    Help with bru water setup

You have selected that you want your water to be the pale ale profile but you have not treated the water enough to create that profile. Its more than just mash ph. you are not hitting the target levels for calcium, magnesium, sulphate and chlorides. If you want that profile you need more...

    CARBING A COMP BOTTLE

My $0.02 Youre over thinking it. If youre brew is carbed appropriately when you pour from the keg and youre counter pressure filling. The tiny amount of head space you leave that the beer will vent and equalise pressure into, will make SFA difference. Judging will pick bigger faults with...

    Help, pale ale aroma

When I was chasing this white rabbit, my first big improvement in aroma came from doing a hop stand. Chill to 80, add between 2 to 4g/l and whirl pool for 30 mins and then continue the chill.. Second improvement came from minimising O2 contact. ie Purging keg with CO2 before filling...

Does this recipe have enough bitterness for 17% crystal?

I just wonder if 17% of carahell is too one dimensional? When I've moved into the teen% with crystals I've always spread them across the range. Not saying it's wrong...

Interesting how many using cordless drills.. what speed you running at? Id be be worried they would need too higher a speed which would be shredding the husk and creating too much flour. Im running a high torque drill and keep it as slow as possible. Not worried about grind time as i leave it...
