    KegLand Questions and Answers

Thanks for the swift reply. Upon opening the base, it was immediately obvious that there was an electrical 'blowout' at the active end of the 1900W element. Both the spade connector on the red (active) wire and the bridge between the two elements were melted off. What would cause this? I...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I have a big problem with my DigigBoil. I have completed 31 brews with it and it has always worked perfectly. But today it stopped working! When raising the temperature for the boil, the lights on the element switches went out even though they were switched on. I noticed that the 500W element...

    Farmed kveik

Not exactly sure what your asking. Most kveik is multiple strain. I use a lot of Voss (3 strains) because it is readily available in dried form. Opshaug (4 strains) has given me some really good ales. Have you seen this ? Lots of useful info on many forms of traditional farmhouse yeasts from...

    Huh?

As a new member (with much to offer) it appears that the greatest deterrent to activity on this forum is negativity. This thread is a prime example. I have followed this thread since I joined, and it is the only thing that has had me questioning my decision to join. I have no doubt that if...

Beer Jokes, Memes, Stories and other funnies.

It was a clear night. I had shared a few home brews with good friends, and when I gazed up at the myriad of stars in the sky and saw the majesty of the cosmos revealed above my innocently wonderous gaze, I felt humbled to witness such a dynamically startling array of cosmic design.. I pondered...

Beer Jokes, Memes, Stories and other funnies.

I'm sure that many of you have some funny things to share about beer and brewing. I, for one, would love to hear (read, see) it. O.K. I'll start.. Doh.. the stuff that buys my Beer Ray.. the guy behind the bar Me.. the bloke who drinks the Beer Far.. it's not too far to the pub...

    G'day from the Canberra region

G'day and welcome Zagreus. I am also a new member from Canberra. This forum has a wealth of information. If you dig a bit you will find stuff that you didn't even know you needed to know. I don't keg, but I do know a bit about all-grain brewing, and how to limit disruption with the wife. I'll...

    Longer than usual fermentation time??

Thanks for the helpful, reassuring input guys. It actually took about 7 days in total to reach FG, and it seems to have turned out great. I tasted it when bottling and I reckon that this could be one of my best. The hops schedule was pure experimentation, but it worked well.

    Longer than usual fermentation time??

Hello fellow brewers I currently have a brew in the fermenter which has taken almost twice as long to reach FG (after lag period) than it should. I'm hoping someone here might know why. Has any one else had a similar experience? Here is my recipe. I used 1 packet of Fermentis US-05 sprinkled...

    G'day fellow brewers!

I have only been brewing since 14/12/2018 when my wife gave me a basic brew kit as an early Christmas gift. My learning curve has been steep. I keep meticulous records and write my own brew calculators and recipe builder. What I brew today is far superior to that first brew 1,593 days ago. My...
