Love your post RB and good to hear from you. Good recipe, I like what rice brings to those lawnmower beers.

Do you have to rub it on or just consume it?

    What next?

Mine was made with 3724 at about 28 degrees. Finished it off (because I couldn't be bothered waiting) with Belle Saison. Saisons might not be your thing. It's a funny thing, SWMBO, who's an IPA drinking machine but has no time for anything really ESB like, sour or tart and will drink lagers...

BIAB Weissbier (more banana, light colour)

I'm getting low efficiency, but I'm not milling well at the moment. If you get the mill setting right, it'll go up. Mine's about 65-70% or so with BIAB in an urn.

    Sodastream getting into "home brewing"

I remember the 2L soft drink bottles (BribieG will back me up on this). Easy way to store beer when you want to bottle. Washing, sterlising and bottling was done in no time. And without his moronship Mr BirnBaum's stupid sodastream beer goo.

We should call it..... Get this for an awesome name.... The Tap King.

ferment with no airlock for a few days

I've only been using it for "standard" IPA - as it does the trick nicely for non-massive grav beers. But noticed it does get up a bit, so can imagine why the BW went off like that. I'm really rating the MJ yeasts, they are good for dried yeasts and lots of variation. And reliable.

Melboune Ale Yeast wlp059 & Yeast Bay

Cannot get this past SWMBO. Or would be onto the saison blend. These yeasts are tops.

BIAB Weissbier (more banana, light colour)

Not so much I want to (hence the other thread), more that the Reinheitsgebot sort of blinded me to the possibility of using dextrose. I suppose the next question is, would glucose (or table sugar) work, or will that bring undesirable characteristics. And is dextrose going to encourage banana...

BIAB Weissbier (more banana, light colour)

Good tips, would have never thought to put dextose viz Reinheitsgebot being the big thing that the bottles of the commercial examples of these beers still bang on. I have a few harvested vials of 3068, I'll get onto this soon.

BIAB Weissbier (more banana, light colour)

+1 on WB06 and Danstar Munich wheat. Weissbier and Saison need a wet yeast, even MJ don't produce an adequate of the former, and I rate their dried yeasts very highly.

Any idea of when the next one is on? I'm more asking for someone else than me.

ferment with no airlock for a few days

I only use airlocks in order to keep the kittens when our cat has babies. It's getting to that time of year again.

I had a Tooheys New glass that my daughter broke the other day. Poured a good beer too, was most upset. It said as the ingredients for their beer "malt, yeast, water, hops and cane sugar". Not saying Tooheys New is a great beer, but they think it adds enough to make it worth printing on a...

    What next?

Good English Pale and a Saison, if you are able to brew it at this time of year. The latter must be brewed with a wet yeast as no dried yeast (and I've tried them all) gets close enough to style

I was thinking Molasses in a Schwarzbier. After I went a tad heavy on some RB in a Bitter and it's just not right.

    Chinook - Feedback and Observations

There is anecdotal evidence viz cohumulone levels as a % of AA%. http://craftbeeracademy.com/the-science-behind-hops-part-1-alpha-and-beta-acids/ It appears as though studies are still ongoing as to the reasons why.

    Brewer's Friend Website ?

Fairly similar to what I do. Most of the time the biggest user error is not in formulation. It's in silly things like forgetting to put the 'element cover' in the urn and wiping out a BIAB bag. "seeingstars:
