Is it possible to get some type of beer swap happening

In Victoria we used to have a pretty active swap meet culture going amongst AHB members. Swaps were held twice a year - you go along with a case of your beer and go home with a mixed case with one of every other brewer's beer. These grew to become a great weekend ng event that involved a big...

Forum needs to be active so let's talk political.

Could you imagine if the two retailers went into politics? What would their policies be? A generous keg subsidy scheme? One would proudly urge buy Australian made kegs -the other possibly a "greener" front saying sav the environment - buy cheap recycled kegs? Imagine how much heat this forum...

    Here we go AGAIN!!!

TBH... From my time moderating admin was pretty hands off. I didn't see them do much deletion/editing. They tended to just check in from time to time. I genuinely believe that the concept this forum is run be KL somehow is just a stupid conspiracy theory. As far as @philrob goes. I agree with...

What happened to Wide Eyed And Legless?

Still doing things like the morning teas etc.... But hasn't shaved her head again. @Reg Holt .... I'm not a mod, haven't been for a while. Gave it away when I started getting abusive messages from a forum member to my personal phone because they didn't like moderation. It's just an internet...

What happened to Wide Eyed And Legless?

I think the issues go way back beyond 2 years ago when the "big forum split" of 2018 happened. Before then this place was loaded with characters and endless banter. People came on for the sense of community and fun as much as they did the knowledge. Most of the characters (ie ****, Yob etc) of...

What happened to Wide Eyed And Legless?

Three comments from me.... Can you really blame the moderation when there is only 6 posts in 24 hours? You can hardly moderate (good or bad) if there is nothing to moderate. The other forum is just the same - virtually no activity there either, and that's a completely different set of mods and...

Lein the brewer/owner is a former home brewer. His business partner Brad is the former owner of Oscars Tavern in Belgrave and owner of Yellingbo Hops. Between them there's a ton of beer and brewing knowledge.... And nice guys too.

    ANHC7 - Melbourne 14—15 October 2022.

Hey Korev Is there, or will there be, a link to an ANHC7 website? I'm sure there are quite a few new brewers that have taken up brewing during lockdown that will have no idea what ANHC is all about since it hasn't been run for the last few years. Can you provide a overview of what goes on at...

    Opinions Imperial Stout

Not disagreeing by any means - because I like my stouts as black as the Ace of Spades too. But you got me looking at styleguides and I was surprised that BJCP has 79 EBC as the upper end of the range for an Imperial Stout. @migi did say he is planning to enter into a comp - But I cant imagine...

Bottle filling with Carbonation Caps - whats your "best practice"

What is the best way to fill bottle from a keg using carbonation caps? If I am just filling a bottle as a takeaway that is going to be drunk soon I generally do OK. a little bit of frothing and some los of carbonation but noting too bad when its just for casual drinking. But I was wondering...

New member, worried my latest batch is contaminated?

Hard to tell from the photo... but it looks like normal krausen. As a few others have said an infection is really obvious in the taste usually. I wouldn't recommend "racking" - this involves transferring the brew of the year to another fermenter. I think the risk outweighs the potential gain...
