Joe White Vienna in the real world?

http://blackhops.com.au/our-beer/ http://www.holgatebrewhouse.com/index.php/beer/view-all/core/mma Not specifically joe white vienna, but maybe this is a small lead. I swear I saw something ages back specifically mentioning joe white vienna. BB also make a vienna as well. But I couldn't find...

    4.6 Schwarzbier

Sounds tasty, I guess my warning was for others who might have thought along the same lines as me, which incorrectly thinking "eh whats a little roasted barley/black malt" I think a paler chocolate might require too much, probably why I was thinking in that direction since they provide less...

    4.6 Schwarzbier

Of course, but I guess if we were to translate that what I am saying use the least roasty roasted grain you can get. Where getting that black might be hard depending on which grain you use, if it were too light like a chocolate malt.

Gladfield ale malt vs UK base malts

Did you do them side by side? and how big of a difference did you notice. I am really curious having not done it myself, since I have read about others claiming you can approximate it with some Pale + Munich. As in if you did it you'd have no issue telling the difference yourself?

Gladfield ale malt vs UK base malts

Heh I dropped an M off my TFFMMO. Yeah I guess I should really try some domestic ale malt vs the UK MO this year. Otherwise I'll be forever curious if I just have rubbish memory or if there is a noticable difference to me.

White Labs WLP059 Melbourne Ale yeast to be released

So what is everyone thinking once it comes out? Which at least through the brisbane yeast buy with hoppy days is happening real soon. I am thinking a lowish hopped XXX or even maybe a more modern dark old ale. Just to get a flavour of the yeast. But I wouldn't mind using some more hops in an IPA...

Gladfield ale malt vs UK base malts

Honestly without doing a side by side I haven't noticed too much difference between gladfield and TFFMO and this is in recipe which does allow base malts to show some what, standard bitter amounts of malt. e.g 8-10% crystal malt with 90% base. Maybe there is a huge difference but I just haven't...

    4.6 Schwarzbier

I think I found out that you definitely need to not use some roasty dark grain like I did. I used a small amount 50-100g can't remember off roasted barley and it was just waaay too roasty in comparison to the dark lagers I have had in germany. I suspect the right grain is something like carafa...

    XXXX Brisbane to close

Wonder how long the megaswill will last with that style of brewing, the race to the bottom. I always find it a shame when companies choose to opt for "cheaper" instead of quality. Mind you not that I'll weep any loss for the likes of them. I did like the big neon sign though.

Rye Malts - Who's Playing With Them Lately?

Had a sample of my 50% rye beer, and really the best description is "the bite", that I can come up with this at this time. Where its almost a bitterness to it, where its more like a bitter tea or coffee with that bitterness. But yes sharpness as Alchomist has.

Rye Malts - Who's Playing With Them Lately?

Yeah just did a batch yesterday, went fine on the crack and got good efficiency. Just need to wait for it to be ready to taste now.

Rye Malts - Who's Playing With Them Lately?

That sounds nice, at this stage I doubt I even really know what Rye tastes like in beer. Is the rye a dark crystal malt?

Rye Malts - Who's Playing With Them Lately?

Yeah just did a Roggenbier with around 50% Rye, thank god for BIAB otherwise it'd definitely be a slow process. It is super oily which is very interesting. Can't wait to see how this one turns out once its done fermenting with WLP300.

Joe White Pilsner Vs Weyermann Pilsner

Huh cool, so is it different from say black malt? I do remember coopers stout having a bit of ashiness/acridness to it, I guess it'd be from this malt.

Joe White Pilsner Vs Weyermann Pilsner

No idea, never even seen/heard of it around at hoppy days or craft brewer.

Joe White Pilsner Vs Weyermann Pilsner

I was going to ask since I haven't found out any more information (and your site doesn't have more information). But what is "porter malt", is a base malt like the stout malt that has been popping up recently? or is it a brown malt? roasted?

    Galaxy 2017?

Nice sounds like they play together well then. Thanks yeah I think something like that will be the go! Do you find the hop flavour sticks around with cube hopping? I have heard that but I am not entirely sure myself with my limited amount of cube hopping.
