Hi All, I have been trying to get my hands on some Wyeast 1469 and I can't seem to find any retailers that have it in stock. Does anyone know where I can get it from? Is anyone in the Sydney area able to donate some harvested 1469 for a good cause :icon_cheers: ? Cheers, Gruntus.

Are you turning the filter upside down after bleeding all the Air/C02 out (in the photos it is the wrong way around....compared to when I use to use mine)?

One thing that you have missed in the grain will absorb water at a ration 1.1 per kg. i.e. for 5kg grain = 5.5 litres (EDIT this may not be the case with BIAB....give it a really good squeeze)

What brands are designed to be moved?.....None. After destroying 3 in the space of 3 months I decided to ring Grimwood.....they were amazed that I was even attempting to hold these (let alone stir) whilst turned on. They insisted that they are designed to be hung over the side in a static...

The grimwood elements (and other brands) are not designed to be moved (e.g. in the mash).....it is this movement that will break the rubber/plastic coating.

Same thing happened to me when using in the Mash (broke three in 3 months)....problem solved when stopped using for mash out.

I think he means one part oil to 20 parts fuel....maybe....maybe not.....doohhh....too slow

The last one was over and done in a day or two....was the quickest and most organised BB that I've ever seen....big cheer for Steve & Ross.

Tried the same beer again tonight and could not detect any phenols.....what the? Can your sensitivity to these compounds change in a day....or am i going crazy?

I'm umming and arring about whether I should keep on drinking a wheatbeer which is showing unpleasant level of phenols. Will it harm me if I keep drinking it?...I'm thinking not. I'm hesistant to chuck it because I don't want to be without beer for two weeks....yes, I have a problem....don't...
