    Why Not Biab

Haha do you think anyone would brew BIAB if it created a "horrible bitter taste"? I think many people on this forum would agree that the taste difference is not only miniscule, it's probably non-existant. Just look at the recent results from the national brewing comp. Common fabric used for the...

    Little Creatures Hop Lord

This got a mention in the single batch thread here: http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...0&start=160 Personally I thought it was nice but a little meh. Looks like you can get it at LC in Melbourne as well.

    2010 Hop Plantations

    Help Extreme Foaming In Wort?

This foamy stuff is called krausen, and it forms when your yeast is at it's happiest, fermenting your wort as fast as it can. Different yeasts and different fermentation conditions (heat etc) can make the difference between a nice near foam and a crazy sludge moster that can't be contained by...

    Little Creatures Next Single Batch

Tried the Hop Lord in Fremantle on the weekend and have to agree with everything you said. Kinda made me think LCPA with different hops. Great beer, but nothing really to make it stand out.

    What Went Wrong

I don't even understand from your post what you think the problem is? The krausen? Your gravity reading of 1.008 is great. If it doesn't move tomorrow, bottle it!

Any One In Perth Looking For Cheap Maize Polenta

Any example recipes for beer that use maize? When I was in Peru I drank some chicha... but I assume you can use it more traditional style beers?

    Getting Interested In (better) Beer

I worked in a bottle shop for about 2 years when I was between school and uni and was put in charge of stocking what was at the time a pretty damn big wall of imported beers... I started to take a different beer home every night... I remember being blown away by samuel adams boston lager, and...

    Wa Brewery Tour Suggestions

The Swan Valley has Feral, Mash, Duckstein, Elmars and Ironbark all close enough to the city to be a day trip, or you could stay out there. I'd definitely recommend it out there. In the city you're best off looking to Freo which has Little Creatures (a Perth institution), Black Salt, the...

    Just Have To Drink More

+1 Seriously, are we going to have to put up with this every night after he's had his 10th beer?

    Glad Wrap Lid For Fermenter

I tried glad wrap for the first time on this brew - a Kolsch using PRO-16 yeast... fermenting in a "better bottle" with a narrow opening and my glad wrap popped off... three times!! I heard it pop off the first time and tended to it quickly, put some fresh glad wrap on and this time poked some...

2010 Wa State Amateur Brewers Competition

I think it's fine - if you've directly used someone elses recipe grain for grain and you win a prize you may want to give them credit or even just let them know - but otherwise don't be shy, just enter your beers! There's far more to brewing than the recipe.

    Carbonator Caps

    *bump* Anyone?

    Carbonator Caps

So I'm bumping an old post because I just have a quick question... I have a carbonator cap... what pressure should I be putting into my PET bottle? I would be pouring from my keg tap into the bottle so cold, already fairly carbonated... I would just want to keep it carbonated (@ about 2.5...

    White Rabbit White Ale

Tried this beer this evening... mixed bag for me. I found there was a heap of sulphur on the nose which I've never found in a commercial beer before. Other than that it was quite enjoyable - spritzy, quite light, slightly cloudy, bit of honey, interesting. Keen to try it again and hopefully not...
