    Reptile Heat Cord

From memory there wasn't much of a difference. If I had my time again I would just go with the pad as the cord can get in the way.

    First Biab Attempt

Congrats on the first BIAB! What temp did you mash at? To get it more crisp you may want to try and get that FG lower. Regarding the cloudiness, I BIAB and dont filter and my beers turn out clear. You need to take your time with the fermentation process and then cold condition and gelatine to...

    Reptile Heat Cord

I have one and its great! Its just coiled up at the bottom of the fridge... so some of these posts have motivated me to go to bunnings tomorrow and get some 3M hooks to wind it around.

    Apartment Brewing

Both good points! I was thinking of BIAB smaller batch size say 17l and then ferment in the Willow Jerry cans as I already have 2 of those. Smaller batch size is no issue as I don't actually drink all that much beer ( yes I know, I know! I actually like brewing beer more than drinking it!).

    Apartment Brewing

Having just signed the papers on my first home, I am going to be going from a house on a massive block of land with a large backyard area to a 1 bedroom apartment. I just wanted to know what kind of AG setups are people using for apartment brewing! I am torn between a 40l Urn for BIAB or a 20l...

Love It Or Hate It - Your Job Poll

Draftsperson? Sales reps being called design consultants is such b/s! I used to work for a volume builder, never again. We have 4 staff where I work, its so much better than putting,up with large company b/s. I agree with clients too, but without them I wouldn't have a job :(

Love It Or Hate It - Your Job Poll

I love my job and hate my job. I am a building supervisor so..... I like building houses. I like working outside. I like dealing with most trades. I love renovating old houses. I don't like the few tradesmen who don't have any pride in their job and do a half assed job for good money. I...

    Kooinda Pale Ale

Unfortunately I wasn't at the bar when it happened a friend of mine got the beers, but if I was there I would have questioned it. The thing that annoys me the most is... how many people have tried this beer with the yeast agitated?? It could be someones first try of "craft beer" and they would...

    Kooinda Pale Ale

I was at a certain Perth "small bar" last night, and was thrilled to see that they had Kooinda Pale ale in bottles. My mate went to the bar and ordered 3 and, the, barman upturned the bottles three or four times and suspended the yeast as most people do with coopers. Now I would imagine they...

    Driving An Mm3-2.0 Mill

Any drill with a 2 speed gear box and decent torque will be fine. There are a lot of cheap mixing drills around now which are great, the ozito is good for price. Single gear variable speed drills will just burn out as they dont have the torque at the lower speeds

    Home Brewing V Craft Brewing

I get that a fair bit actually. "Oh I do the same, I keep my Corona bottles and once a month me and the boys go down to *insert generic Brew on premises place here*" I don't really mind though, I just let them know that I brew from scratch using grains and hops. Most people then tell me they...
