    Pairing Beer With Various Foods

10 pints of english extra special bitter + roast beef, roast spuds, roast pumkin, roast carrots, peas, gravy, stuffing, yorkshire puddings + The FA Cup but with Gerrads goal not happening in injury time, blend nicely together.

2006 Tipping Comps. Any Interest ?

A case of the swans losing rather than the eagles winning. Can't believe that elite sportmen regularly missing the target out in front of goals. The second half was sensational great goals by both teams.

    Carbonated Drops Vs White Sugar

With standard carbonising, you are adding 0.2 % alcohol, for the British beers I generally make you want less fizz. Hard to wreck a beer using standard secondary fermentation levels, well atleast with my ravished taste buds it is.

    Just Started

He's left you a wonderful legacy and already you have heaps of great advice already. I've brewed those kits before and they are good. Personally with that kit I like to change the yeast as I find it produces a spicy flavour that some like. Favourite recipe with that kit: 1 can of draught...

How Much Have You Brewed This Year

Relative lightweight at about 400 litres per annum.

    Whats In The Glass Pics

Putting that beer I pictured in the Gidgegannup Show. (Gidgegannup is where we lost Brooky.) Hoping to secure the $4 first prize. If I do I'll go straight to the Noble Falls tavern and have a half of Feral's Belguim White. Big stakes! The best beer I've ever brewed it even produces a white...

    Amber Ale At 1.002?!?

Didn't realise that you would drink it young, thanks for the advice. I reckon it would make a good warm weather drop served chilled. If you got it in stubbies do the unthinakable and drink it straight out of the bottle ice cold.

    Consumption Per Week

Moderation for me with occassional big session which includes food, of course. Being "british" Australian I like to have people around, especially in winter, drink ten pints of bitter, and have a roast for dinner. My ethnic mate goes the chicken wings and German lager, then our fair dinkum...

    Bottle Conditioning Lagers

Ash secondary is minimal v primary. Big worry is the yeast cannibilising itself and leaving a vegemite taste which is offset by storing the beer at lowest temp the yeast just works out.

    Growing Hops

Good luck with it. Fresh is best as far as I'm concerned.

Beer Glass With Jesus In The Froth

Hey, lets not stuff around with this one, definitely a miracle. HOWEVER, I don't like our chances with the current pope if the beer wasn't a rheinheitsgebot one.

    Esb Draught

Festa's another kit pronto may assist you with that. Ie build up a beer mountain. BUT in the short term easier said than done. These days I can buy some beer while I age my HB, but that wasn't feasible when I was a poor student. With the Perth weather warming up, I've been getting cartoons...

    Wish List..

When you buy that you don't just toe the economy v quality line you take a running jump over it. Amazing stuff.

    Esb Draught

Best results at the 3 month mark, which should coincide with the heat of summer. Vampire it (IE no sunlight on the bottles) and don't tell your mates about it :D

Plugs Or Pellets, Saaz Or Hallertau?

Benchmark off a Pilsener Urquel. Good excuse to buy a few. Personal choice Saaz, amazing hop especially the "flowers".

    Esb Draught

Houso - bad news is it wont taste like Carlton draught, good news is it will taste better. It will be similar in style also. Chin, Chin KIR.

    Hand Pump

Ash, Check these out, shows you what Dave Line used when he talks about polypins. Not a cheap option but thought you may want a peek since you have an interest. http://www.thebitterend.biz/beer.htm

    Esb 3kg Apa

Couldn't go past Cascade on this one. Goldings are a safe hop, they go alright in just about anything. On the more experimental side; Pinch of Pride of Rings flowers (or pinching the ringy), to give it a bit of a OZ boost. Easy does it with this one.
