    Extract - Leftovers IPA

Thanks manticle. I'll take your advice on board regarding the Caramalt. I am going to hold on to the Citra for another brew. However will using the Chinook as my bittering hop produce an overwhelming grapefruit taste? or is 30g a safe amount? Cheers.

    Extract - Leftovers IPA

Thanks for your reply mate. I might go with 200g of Crystal & 300g of Victory. Here are the numbers I’ve got so far without adding Citra into the equation. OG 1052 / FG 1012 IBU 50 / EBC 19.2 I almost always use a spec yeast but the thinking behind this brew is to use up some left overs and...

    Extract - Leftovers IPA

Hey everyone, after having success with brewing my first extract beer (Pacific Ale clone) I am keen to do another one and use up some left over hops I have in the freezer. What do y’all think of this recipe? I am aiming for a English IPA. These are the ingredients I already have on hand...

    'battle Of The Toucans'

1067? Wowzers! 23lt brew? It should be a decent drop mate, heavy (in ABV) but sessionable. I have a tin each of Coopers APA & Coopers Wheat Beer ready to go for when the weather warms up to make their Saison recipe. Hopefully it's nice so I can put one down every summer.

First attempt at a JS Constable clone

Yeah that is tops. I attempted to make a Constable clone this year, it turned out way darker than the JS original. If I did it again I would use these ingredients instead: Coopers English Bitter tin 500g Light Dry Malt 200g Crystal 15g Fuggles 30g Galaxy Kit yeast 21 lt brew The first time I...

    Coopers Craft Brew

No problem, they sell 15g bags of Galaxy at Big W now. No joke - Brigalow are selling them as finishing hops, sitting at room temperature and everything. Anyways, back on topic...

    Coopers Craft Brew

PS - A Coopers 1.7kg Pale Ale tin brewed to 8.5 litres with nothing else will give you a near perfect American IPA. OG 1062 FG 1015 IBU 50 EBC 13.2 :beerbang:

    Coopers Craft Brew

    Best Cerveza tin?

Damn, my local Coles doesn't even sell brew cans. And my LHBS owner locked me out 5 minutes before closing time. Ahh well, ended up getting a Cooper's Canadian Blonde tin from Big W. Recipe as follows: 1.7kg Canadian Blonde 1kg LDME 250g Dextrose 10 g Calypso @ 10 mins 20 g Calypso dry hop...

    Best Cerveza tin?

G'day all. I want to brew Coopers' Caribbean Siesta recipe but I can't get my hands on their Cerveza tin anywhere local at the moment. Can anyone recommend a good substitute? Black Rock, Morgans, Mangrove Jacks? Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to split hairs haha. Cheers + Beers. -Mark

    Citra Vs Centennial & Chinook

There was no figure listed on the container. I asked the bloke at the HBS and he wasn't sure but guessed between 5.5% - 6% ABV. You know what they say about assumptions hey haha. No big deal. If it goes alright I can always chuck some extra LDM at it next time.

    Citra Vs Centennial & Chinook

Cheers guys, I ended up using the MJ's M44 yeast and will keep the S-04 for another brew. Mick - yes mate I got the wort kit from Brewer's Choice. I brewed it up last night and the OG was 1040 which was a bit of surprise - I expected it to be a bit higher. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

    Citra Vs Centennial & Chinook

We had two away wins yippee! Bummer I went to Molly Malone's for lunch one day when were up there but didn't notice any craft beer joint. I did have a LCPA off tap at MM's which is a nice change. OK - So I have my fresh wort kit and am going to brew this up as follows: Black Cat Wort (by All...

Check my kit brew- coopers amber ipa (toucan)

Hey Leigh, the recipe looks good to me mate. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you might only need a 2 or 3 litre boil with about 1 cup of malt (dry or liquid).
