    Matho's controller

Yeah the SSR takes about 7.5mA at 12v to trigger and the transistor driving the SSR are good for at least 50mA so firing 2 SSR's should be fine cheers steve

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

yeah scrambled screens are a sign of EMI caused by switch an inductive load, the boards that lael have been producing already has a snubber circuit across the switch but it seems not to suppress the EMI enough. I'm looking into whether putting another snubber circuit across the load will cause...

    Matho's controller

Hey masters, instead of changing the code just wire it up like this when you remove the malt just flick the switch to add the extra element.

    Matho's controller

djar, the pump control would be easy to put in and sounds like a good idea so the list is Pump on/ off control during auto Delay start changes to the setting input adding extra variables to set pump and boil control and at the top of the list fix this read error problem. cheers steve

    Matho's controller

Oh also I have been running a march pump with the V2 board so I measured the pumps resistance, which was 30 ohms and then put a resistor (330 ohms) which is slightly great than 10 x the pumps resistance in series with a 0.047uF 250v metalized cap across the pump. I tried switching the pump on...

    Matho's controller

OK I have been playing with the braumiser last night and used this spreadsheet to get my PID settings right and I thought I would share it. Just enter the volume and wattage of the element and then play with the PID setting until you get a good result. A lot of the changes are easy to do and...

nope, I love the size, just right for me :) . I did pull all the fittings apart and gave them a good clean, they were not too dirty considering its been over a year since I did it last.

    Braumeister NEXTGEN Build

So after 2 years the original controller is getting the boot and the brauduino is being put in its place. The reason was a couple of connectors were becoming dicky causing the display to flicker, also I want to play with the brauduino. I feel kind of sad to see it go. the brauduino is being...

    Matho's controller

So now that there is a fair number of brauduino's out there ( thanks lael) I would like brewers feed back on the code for the brauduino. If there is a common change requested then I might be able to improve it. I hope the controllers are going well. cheers steve

QldKev's New Biab With Internal Rims

Looks great Kev, If there is any improvements to the controller that you could think of, let us know. I'm thinking about changing my original controller over to a brauduino just to see how it goes. I still like my orignal controller but I would like to see how a brew goes with the brauduino, I...

    My Mill

no not this time, I might brew tomorrow so I'll try wetting the grain then.

    My Mill

just finished fitting the motor to the mill and I'm very happy, the motor has enough torque to start with grain in the hopper and it is a lot quiter than the drill motor. The drive line is nice and strong and the crush is excellent. cheers steve edit: the mill went through 1.2kg of grain...

    Boil rate

a gentle boil is enough, if it is jumping out of the pot then I would say it is to much. What I look for is that I'm getting domes on the surface of the liquid . cheers steve

    My Mill

The mill gives a really crush with both rollers driven, the latest problem has been when I moisten the grain, the load on the mill increases too much for my little jaw coupler to cope so I went to my local bearing mob and got a lovejoy L075 jaw coupling to handle the load. the next up grade is...

used to be a really good article on AHB about growing hops but we have lost the articles since the upgrade. They like lots of sun, need lots of water during hot days and they love fertilizer. cheers steve

    Matho's controller

Hey notung, the transistors in the kit I sent you had the right pin out but it could be a dud one, I'll PM you about fixing the sheild. I had a problem with a sheild the other day, the contrast pot was pushed down and the metal base was making contact with one of the legs causing the 5v to be...

    Matho's controller

it sounds like the transistor is around the wrong way, the original 2n2222a have different pin outs and have caused a few headaches. It is fairly tricky to remove the transistors without damaging the board, I smash the black part and remove one leg at a time. If you want to post it to me I can...
