    Tooheys Draught

Wasn't keen on it, although drinkable Being a Tooheys drinker from way back I was very disappointed with it. Shouldn't carry the Tooheys name. Definitely needs hop help. Probably won't buy it again, we'll see. If you have it, brew it, but add hops. Those hop bags (PoR maybe) are good and...

My Third Brew: Morgan's Golden Sheaf.

Sharp taste - > Dry? Would you call it a bleach taste? Your recipe sounds like your brew should be quite smooth..... These daze, kits are good. The definitive KISS principle. You don't appear to have done anything wrong recipe wise, so it has to come back to cleaning. (IMHO). Best thing to...

My Third Brew: Morgan's Golden Sheaf.

Aw come on Mika. :D A man's not a camel. :chug: Ya gotta test that you got your gassing right, Keep checking for infections. Ummmm, I suppose that's why my vintage stock is 6 weeks old. I'm still experiment after a "SWMBO enforced" lay off.

My Third Brew: Morgan's Golden Sheaf.

Yer only human mate. I check gas at 7 days, 8 days, 9 daze...... lol. I'm adding another fermenter on Monday to get some winter ales done quickly. I gotta say it really, really sounds like the bleach thing. Probably not getting all the residue out. If you can't get to a LHBS, just pickup some...

    First Time Brewer Questions

Ditto what Adam said, but also, a week is the absolute minimum for leaving your brew down. My minimum is 10 days (usually 14 on the cake) before even looking at it. A punt would be that you are looking for about 1012 - 1010 FG.

    26 Litre Kit & Kilo

One of those 12 gram Hop bags of Pride of Ringwood works absolutely brilliant with the Coopers Draught. I boil the kit malt in 10 litres for 10 mins, then add the hop bag for 10 and leave it in the brew in the fermenter. MB-89 hops work well too.

My Third Brew: Morgan's Golden Sheaf.

My Granddad & dad both brewed & I just can't remember what they sanitized with (back in the 60s). I use anything I can get my hands on - pinky (3 types), sod met, no rinse. lol Sitting back sampling an Aust Draught @ 2 weeks - coming along fine.

My Third Brew: Morgan's Golden Sheaf.

Time, Temperature and Cleanliness. All of equal importance. Everybody brews a crook batch, sometime or other. Mate I wouldn't be using diluted bleach. No way at all. Never ever heard of using it. Haven't tried the kit you mentioned, would be interested to read a report on it. Scrub your gear...

    Brigalow Apple Cider

I put one (Brig Ap Cid) down yesterday and was bubbling with a couple of hours of yeast addition. Created vortex and added dried yeast straight out of the sachet. Bubble rate (as we speak) about 36-40 per min.
