    G'day put on the coopers Irish stout 1 kg of dark malt etc. Thought it tasted like she needed some extra hops? 'Twas thinking maybe dry hoping it? Does anyone have a suggestion on which type of hop I should use? Cheers'

    Just bottled the stout, I've tasted it so far and as far as I can tell it tastes very much like a coopers best extra stout, this is a good sign as I normally drink the best extra. I don't usually take an alcohol reading I find if I just swish the left overs round in the bottom of the fermenter...

    G'day wondering if 500 g of lactose is too much for 20 Lt of coopers Irish stout? This is what I've done, 1 can coopers Irish stout 500g of lactose 1kg dark malt 500g dark sugar Please if anyone knows this I'm really not sure if I've gone over board on the lactose?

    G'day, I've bottled it after 7 days into 2.25Lt plastic bottles put a bit of ground ginger citric acid and bicarbonate of soda, no extra sugar and the bottles are now carbonated.     Crush ya ginger in a garlic press and boil for as long as you can? Ginger is a great anti-inflammatory. Do you get sore in the joints? Maybe help with a good ol fashioned case of the gout?
