I got my fermenters from Bunnings. 25L for $15. Round type with a bung for a tap if want to add. Taps are $2. They come with a rubber "O" ring seal but like PistolPatch I dont use a seal or airlock either.

Never used it so I cant say. I just use good old barley malt, I believe it has all the goodness brewers yeast needs to grow heathy.

I dont mind a real cold filtered beer, not like those novilty ice brews like Cold, Millers, Ice.... So has anyone actually tried to brew one? I am interested to find out how it can be done and a recipe. I guess i could make a dopplebock and experiment with some. Also will it be able to be bottle...

I have tested my liquor that returns to the top of the mash and is the same or 1 degree less than the HLT temp. Might be because I have insulated plumbing.

Hey Tony, Dont you have tempurate control (theremostat) for your hot liquor tun. If so you can adjust the HLT to the temp you want your mash. When I strike my mash (lets say i want it to start at 66c) i will heat the HL to desired temp (using a digital thermostat) which is higher than my mash...

Hansa Pils come in 500ml crown bottles. I find these good because sometimes you dont feel like a full 750ml or it is warm before you finish it. Alot of other german beers come in 500ml but not as cheap as Hansa. You notice the difference in taste though with the cheap Hansa but it beats most of...
