    Portable Keg Setup

MDF does not like water at all. Generally dont need ice as the kegs are usually in a few hours but in the event that I need the ice, I do as justsomeguy said and put a bin liner in.

    Portable Keg Setup

No offense taken. I pride myself on my expediant and cheap but effective equipment. And no, its not held together by glad wrap, its just there to protect the foam. I dug deep and bought a bottle of PVA to hold it all together lol. Total cost minus the tap was under $10 so I think I did alright...

    Fridge Help

Yeah mine had a thermostat in the fridge section too. The one in the the freezer will drive the comp while the the fridge one will control a small amount of air flow from the freezer. Was it an electrical or mechanical type (did it have wire leads coming from it)? You can have multiple...

    Portable Keg Setup

This is my new portable keg setup. Before I just used a styrofoam box with the pluto gun but inbetween servings the line would get warm and foam up on serving. Just needs some handles and a hole for the gas line but I think this should do the job much better :icon_cheers:

Have room for 40L in the ferm fridge for standard ales etc but at the rate I've been getting through kegs lately I think it would be a good Idea to get a high temp yeast so I'm not limited to just what I can fit...

    Force Carbonating Then Dropping Temp

b_thomas Force carbing only takes about 15mins once its cold (I connnect gas at slightly high pressure than required to the beer out and shake) and I can tell you its easier getting to desired volume at serving temp with lower pressures than trying to do it at room temp with higher pressures...

    From Ground To Fridge

Thanks all for the replies. The barley is stirling which is a malting variety and the stuff that I took for brewing was of malt grade. Unfortunately it would be pretty hard to work out the area used to grow this much as this barley just came out of the back of the truck before it went off to the...

Hi all, just sitting back enjoying the first glass from the first keg I can truly call my own. :drinks: Its a fat yak clone made from barley I planted on my family farm and malted myself and cascade hops from my first year plant that I harvested the same day. I may have cheated a little, the...

    Keeping Fermenter Fridge Cool?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mini-Digital-Temper...=item3f0390ca0a These are fantastic little things, just got one myself. Keeps the temp within half a degree for $30. You can wire them up using a cut up extension cord so that one end goes into your power, the other you plug your fridge into. If...

    Malting/roasting Grain

Sorry to resurrect such an old post but I've been seaching everywhere and can find answers. I'm trying to make some munich malt from pale malt. So far I've tried baking at 105C for 2 hours but it tasted more like biscuit malt than the sample of munich I had to compare it to. I'm thinking soak...
