    Belgian Beer Corks & Bottles

Coming out of hibernation to dig up this thread. Does anyone know of any 'Strayan suppliers of Belgian Corks and suitable cages? Craftbrewer.com.au is no longer. This is the only one I could find, but no cages and all the money: Beer Cork 44 25.5 mm 30 count (Not even sure it's a legit store.)...

    XPA Clone

<thread dig> For bottling, would you just put the 0 day dry hops in with the 7 day lot?

    Frothy Cider?

^ Ah sweet! I'll try to get some more info from said friend and report back. Thanks!

    Frothy Cider?

OK, I already feel stupid asking this question. A friend of mine claims she had a special one-off limited edition never to be repeated Willie Smith's cider that had a foam head - froth, if you will. She described it as 'extra yeasty', but I don't know if that was the name of it or that was just...

    Wyeast Nutrient Swell

For anyone interested I did receive a reply from Wyeast, who stopped short of explaining why my nutrient pack swelled up. They did say I could get a replacement from the retail outlet. So not that helpful, but I guess it was good to get a response.

    Wyeast Nutrient Swell

^ Yeah, there was a nice foamy head on it this morning, so all good. I might flick Wyeast an e-mail and see what they've got to say.

    Wyeast Nutrient Swell

Cheers Mark, but it wasn't the yeast that had swelled, it was the nutrient pouch. I'm not particularly worried about it, I've just never seen that happen before. Here's a shitty picture of it:

    Wyeast Nutrient Swell

Hi. So I bought a smack pack of Wyeast 1056 American Ale yesterday, with the intention of making a starter in the evening, so while I didn't keep it cold, I didn't activate it, either. When I pulled it out to activate it a few hours later, I noticed the pack had already swelled a bit, and I just...

    Cider Yeast Starter

Ah, I'm learning all the time, thanks.

    Cider Yeast Starter

Good thinking. Would you just dissolve it in some boiling water before adding to the fermenter? Yeah it's a bit of an experiment as I'm pretty limited to what I can brew during summer - usually Saison, which is where I got the idea. 2L starter sounds like the go. Thanks all!

    Cider Yeast Starter

Planning to do a 'cheat's' cider shortly by putting a pack of Wyeast Belgian Saison 3724* in 20L of preservative free supermarket apple juice. Never done a cider before, should I make a yeast starter? If so, how much for how long? I was thinking one litre for 48 hours...but that was just a...

    Plastic Fermenter Taps

^ I was wondering the same, one of these? http://www.goodlifehomebrew.com/en/little-bottler My bottling wand doesn't fit into the snap tap, think it was from a Brewcraft kit.

    Great Ocean Road breweries?

Also in the area are Little Creatures in Geelong and Bellarine Estate at Bellarine (are they still brewing?) There's also Flying Horse down near Warrnambool.

    Plastic Fermenter Taps

^ A popular hardware store chain. You'll end up with heaps of different sizes, but there should be about four that fit. https://www.bunnings.com.au/kinetic-assorted-sizes-o-ring-kit-43-pack_p4920305
