Need an Admin, and hey guys!

Bradsbrew, thankyou for sorting out Brigsy79, he's in. Radshoes and I have cleared our air, and all is well. I didn't know who to contact our how, but I had a saved message from 'admin', so I replied to that. If I might liken controlling a mash to the mechanics of a forum ; one should not be...

Need an Admin, and hey guys!

Thank you. I don't expect instant help from an admin. But having sent an unanswered PM some weeks ago now, I saw this related thread as an avenue of second attempt. If the first responder thought a new status was the best way, that suggestion would have been helpful. Maybe I was oversensitive...

Unhelpful and belittling. I have no further interest being here. Bye AHB.

Hi bradsbrew, it looks like you are an admin? I have a friend stuck in the joining process as well. Could you please check on Brigsy79? Thank you :)

    Whirlpool Process

I'm interested to hear more about whirlpooling by recirculating with a pump. I plan to do this, post boil, whilst hot, in my kettle. And only pump out to a counterflow chiller after whirlpooling. Obviously I don't want to blow air into my hot wort. I can prime before my pump, but how do you go...

$25 grain mill motor from bread maker

To those asking about specific models of bread makers being suitable as motor donors, I would think they all will work just fine. Mine happened to be a 220VDC motor. The source AC went to the main controller board (and was transformed to 14VDC for use with the buttons etc) The same original AC...

$25 grain mill motor from bread maker

Good point, thanks. I don't have the bar yet, so I'll be shopping around the OpShops, Cash Converters, tip shop and keeping that in mind.

$25 grain mill motor from bread maker

I scored a free breadmaker locally that was going to the tip due only to the cooking container's coating peeling off. I'm excited! I'm going to try my luck using the knurled ends of a weight lifting barbell as the textured rollers.

    Bulk priming question.

Be sure your brew is fermented out to completion before bottling. You don't want too much going on in your bottles, which will lead to gushers or explosions. When I bulk-prime, I mix 3/4 cup dextrose per 5 gallon batch. Up to a full cup would be OK for extra carbonation. I use a bit less for...

New all-grain forum member, Toowoomba QLD

Thanks all. I feel the love, thanks for welcome. I've kept a few yeasts at colony level before on agar slopes. They take some maintenance, and some time to step back up the numbers when you want to use them, but yes, I've had success with that. It's completely possible, and geeky, but I'm not...

New all-grain forum member, Toowoomba QLD

Hi all, Just a quick hello so you all know I'm a real person and not a new robot member. I got my all-grain stamps while I lived in USA for a number of years. I've been home about 5 years now and only just starting to piece my kit back together to start up again. I'm a geek. I'm a scientist and...
