I built one of these and used the suggestion of the silicon baking tray for a sealing washer, worked a treat. Took a trip to the local bicycle shop and purchased a CO2 tyre pump which takes 16g threaded CO2 bottles, usually give the sprayer a quick squirt of gas and it pours no worries at all...
I have one of the ebay units set up and siliconed the temp sender inside a small aluminium tube then immersed it into a bottle of water placed in the fridge. Set the temp to 3.5c with a .5 buffer, the fridge cycles for 20min every 1 and a half hours.
Probably over kill siliconing it in a tube...
The bottle is an australian standard found out it was a Type 30 aus standard thread and went to BOC and got a nut and tail cost $42.00 cheaper than the $100 to get the adapter made. Took me a good half hour to remove the old tail and nut which was a US standard as it was on way too tight.

Apparently Dan Murphy's isn't participating in the promotion. Was talking to the guy at Celarbrations at Flagstaff Hill and he was saying that the independant stores are the ones with the promotion but they are't allowed to advertise it. They can only have instore promos.

I've just installed the STC-1000 to the fridge and it appears to be working a treat! I have a few further questions I couldn't find definite answers to.
