    Just Out Of Interest...

Hey Saint roam, I've done a blonde before with BE2 and 500g of LDME and some hops, (cant remember which ones) and it turned out a treat. Like you i left it for 2 weeks in the fermenter, came out nice and clear with good colour. Am going to do another this weekend, but was thinking of using maybe...

    Coopers Stout

I've heard with stouts that you can prime the bottle with a black jelly bean to get the licorice flavour. Not sure how true it is, but sounds simple enough. I would use the DDME, just put some in with a draught kit and taste great, with good mouthfeel and body. All the best on the stout...

Hi I Am New To Brewing

Don't stress too much Phil, I was the same with my first brew ( a Pale Ale), ended up tasting quite nice. Hooked now. Have done a number of different styles since then, and I am having more fun than I expected. It just gets better and better. Don't be afraid to ask questions, everyone on this...

    Bottle Sterilizing - How Dry?

as with most people on the thread I rinse my bottles out after drinking them, making them quite clean. On bottle day I clean them off in a sterilised sink with no rinse sanitiser and them leave them upside down to dry. Though they are not always totally dry when I add sugar to prime. My two cents.

    Over Hopped

thanks all, its more hops than I have used before and was starting to stress a little about qty. I'm trying to achieve a fruity pale ale, with a malty hint. A nice summer drinker. Something like JS 150 lashes would be nice.

    Pale Ale Brew

Just about to put my fourth brew down, and absolutely loving it. I want to do a Pale Ale (coopers APA) with tasty citrus flavours. Would I be right to use Citra hops, boiled?? Anyone know of a tasty recipe? Was also thinking about putting orange rind in my hops boil. Will probably use ldme in my...

    2nd Brew Down...

I've only done two myself, plenty more planned. What I have found is that I leave it in the fermenter for 14 days that it clears up a heap. I read that the extra weak gives the yeast a chance to clean up the brew. I jsut did a real ale with a caramalt liquid extract, looking wicked. Waiting for...

    Dark Experiment

Love the sound of using the saunders malt. I grew up on it, sucking it off a spoon. Loved it. Hope your brew turns out wicked. I just put down a real ale with caramalt in it. Fermenting away nicely. Good luck. Love the white rabbit too
