I realised I have a perfect tool for steeping - a 6L sous vide bath that can keep temps to within about 0.5° of the setting - when I get into grains I may have to buy another sous vide as this one is in use almost constantly.
Yep... I've started buying LDME. Got the BE3 originally because it has the DME in it.I saw a exbeeriment on brulosophy that suggested there's no discernible difference in quality of beer from the dry to the liquid, although they DID report a difference. Lack of funds mandate the dry for now plus...
My 2nd brew is bottled and in the cupboard - it's a toucan, 2 x Coopers Draught. They were free with the gear I got 2nd hand and old so I figured WTH? See below for what I call a 'Kicker' :D
I also have 2 more brews in the fridge now so things ticking along well.
:D You must make a MUCH better saison than a pub in Bendigo kept getting in - eveery time they got a new one they'd give me a taste and it would pucker my mouth (not just my lips) and almost make me gag. :D
I told them I reckon the way to make saison was to make a beer then sit it in the sun for...
I think he was responding to the post he quoted - the OP addressed those Q's.
I hae a toucan running in the FV right now. I bought some 2nd hand brew equipment and there were 2 x out-of-date (Sept 2019) cans of Coopers Draught.
So both have gone in, with 11g US-05 (plus the kit yeast and some...
Oh, BTW... The price I got was $49.20 - they're RRP about $82 I think. Lowest other price I saw was around $65. The InkBird facebook page also does deals.
And no affiliation at all, just sharing my good fortune - only just joined their FB page yesterday. :D
Go to the Home Brew Network youtube page. There's a link on there for the Inkbird ITC-310T-B Programmable Thermostat 12 Stage - Temperature Controller at a price cheaper than most of the ITC-308's I've seen advertised. Like his video while you're there... :D
Also glad I read it past the first sentence...
"I’ve just been thinking about a Belgian Blond I bottled recently"
He COULD have been an anti-EU Cockney, talking to his china's down the rubbedy. :D
I'm not sure what 'bigger' means - more alcohol? More particulates? But looks like a general...
I got to taste my first attempt at K&K last night. I brewed Cooper Real Ale and a kilo of BE3.
Had a bit of the problem at the start - temp got to 36° overnight. (electric blanket FU - don't ask :D) but after giving the brew extra time after FG - advice from others to let the yeast clean up...
Now THAT raises an interesting point - am I addicted enough at this early stage to go back to Windoze? Even as a dual boot Billy's garbage is a pain in the arse - and I supported users using it for 20+ years.
Maybe I could VM it and just open it for the SS?
