at a rough guess it is about 4-8 deg judging by sticker on side on keg. I know this is a big difference and can effect it, but I had it chilling for nearly 7 days before I hooked it up to the co2.
that's what im starting to think. have checked for leaks in keg and don't have any so am wondering if the regulator is reading wrong. was a 2nd hand set up I bought
Have just kegged for the first time and was using the set and forget method to carb it. keg was chilled for more than 24hrs and I set reg at 30 bar(300kpa) for 24 hours. tried it and wasn't carbed so set it at 10 bar (100kpa) and it has been at this for 72 hours. just tried it again and still...
just a quick question for those who answered... how do you guys carb your beer. am I trying the set and forget method but it seems a little undercarbed at the mo so have turned the pressure back up to 300kpa
I know this will probably sound like a stupid question. but as this is the first brew I have kegged was wanting to know when I have finished a session and the keg isn't empty can I turn the co2 off and disconnect gas in and leave keg in fridge or will this result in beer going flat.
your recipe is nearly exactly the same as a brew I made once. except I used a tin of liquid malt. Was probably one of the worst tasting beers I have made. I put it down to the tin of coopers sparkling ale as I got it cheap when the local hardware shop decided not to stock homebrew stuff anymore...
as i live in the tropics I had to get a fridge and stc-1000. as the cold water temp here in the tap in around 26 deg. I went and bought a 25litre water container from the hardware store. I fill this with cold water and put in fridge 24 hrs before brewing and set to around ferment temp. This way...
gave them a good clean out. pulled them all apart. didn't changed any O-rings as they looked ok. all three of them had different set-ups in regards to the dip tube
well as I have just bought a 2nd hand keg system and the other day am now totally confused as to how a should go about cleaning them before I use them for the first time. Don't know what the previous owners regime was or whether he has changed any O-rings or seals. First brew I was going to pull...
thanks for the advice guys. was wanting to know.. how long do I need to mature the beer in the keg. with my bottling I leave it 2-3 months before I drink it. also how do I mature it in the keg. do I carb it first or just leave it sitting in keg uncarbed
also as it is 2nd hand and I don't know how well it was last cleaned was is the best cleaning stuff to clean kegs out and also flush the line to the tap
Gidday all,
have just purchased a kegging system and fridge with tap and am wanting advice/links to teach me the best way to keg my homebrew. Have been bottling it for the last 3 years and have read a bit on the net about kegging but am looking for expert homebrewers advice on what is the best...
i bought a tin of tooheys special lager for $7 at woolies once...brewed with us-05 and some ldme with some extra hops to...turned out ok after being in bottle for 12 plus weeks..but i wouldn't recomend it or brew it again myself..i had only brewed coopers up to that point and cos it was cheap...
Looks very similar to what my pet bottles look like when i store them at room temp. As i live in the tropics i only store at room temp over the winter and first time i noticed this was a bit concerned to as it was on the sides of the bottles. after putting bottles in fridge for a couple of weeks...
have just googled refractometer and discovered that my reading is not 1020...as the alcohol in the liquid effects the reading....i fell like i right fool...hahaa
