    Free fridge Western Melbourne

Free fridge, very hopeful someone can pick it up this weekend (We are moving on Tuesday) I used it for fermenting and it worked fine, no proper temp control but ran on a timer for 15min every 2 hours except overnight kept the summer temps at bay. Located in Maribyrnong.

    All Grain Setup - Melbourne

Ok so apparently I dont drink as much as I brew so I am scaling back my brewing quite a bit and will be selling a big chunk of my gear. I would like to sell it as a whole but if I have no luck after a while then I will sell it piece by piece so watch this space :) Setup includes 3 Fermentation...

    New To Brewing Idea's

Correct (Remove and sparge though, which prob isnt needed), someone may be able to correct me (As I am still reletivly new myself and so may be wrong) But I dont see the point in boiling for 60 minutes. Normally this is done to add bittering hops which you dont need. So I would think that...

    Increasing Alcohol- Noob

Add Dark Dry Malt Extract to a stout, you wont regeret it. I think my last stout had 2kg in it + I only topped up to 19L and I added some maltodex(Maybe 500g). It didnt carb very well (Undercarbed I think) But is a healthy 7%ish if I recall correctly. Also nice and thick like a good stout should...

Stockpots For Ag Brewing - What , Where , How Much ?

I lucked out with a 50L stainless steel off ebay for $50. Here is a decent place to buy the 50L aluiminium ones from http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Cookwa...um-Stockpot-50L If you can find something else cheap to add on you will avoid postage as well. Ive been thinking about getting one of...

    Qantas Reviewing Their Beer Menu

Personally I could take or leave their White Ale, but I know a lot of people like it. Their Dark Ale is a very nice drop though IMHO.

    Qantas Reviewing Their Beer Menu

The write in will likely get swamped so I wouldnt use more then a token on it. But I say pick 2-3 and put 3-4 tokens on each. My choices would be (From the ones I know) Asahi and James Squire. Decent bottled beers and have a chance of getting tokens from other people. Should ask if everyone can...

    Kits V Ingredients

Actually I have switched from K&K to AG because I want more control and I want to learn more about the ingredients that go into my beer then a question of quality. I am hoping I will get much better beer from switching, but thats not why I am doing it.

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

Refractometers From E-bay (hong Kong) Any Good?

I doubt tap water can be far enough away from distilled that it would make any difference in calibration considering your still calibrating using good ol sight. We use it (Well at least I do) to check the calibrations on hydrometers, so no difference really.

Cider Using Whole Apples - Not Juice

I would imagine just sitting in water (Assuming thats the liquid he was using) the fruits would release their sugars. This would allow the yeast to start munching and I know from a friends experience that cut up apples in fermenting cider kinda turn to mush so I am assuming that this happens to...
