    RIP Paul Wicksteed aka Time4Another1.

I know this thread has been cold for a while now but I still think about Paul Wickstead from time to time. His sudden passing left me stunned and, while I still brew, I've never been as into the technical side of things since. Does anyone know what actually happened? I feel like a got to know...

Hop Clear Out- DIPA recipe advice

I'm doing a clear out of my hop box from the fridge and want to do an IPA with what I've got. Can I get advice on a worthy grain bill and some suggestions on hop additions? I'm a BIAB brewer and I think I'll go for a small 10-15L batch for this brew so could probably make it a DIPA. These are...

    Epic Hop Zombie DIPA

I can see this thread has been dormant for sometime now but it's such a great beer I had to comment. I spoke with the Epic head brewer Luke at the Auckland food show a few months back. He had a bottle of hop zombie in his hand while we chatted and kept refilling my glass. He accounts the...

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Cheers guys. I'll update when there is progress. Sorry about wonky photo.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Whew. All done. Managed to hit target FG by filling fermenter up to 24L. Hope it won't affect flavour or body too much. Here's a look at the colour. Not sure it's red enough to warrant the name.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Yeah that does sound good actually. After you suggested it I jumped on Google translate and tried a few combos. I don't speak Italian so all the names I came up with were a bit of a mouthful. I think short a sweet would be best. What do you think of "Po'di Rosso"? - Little Red.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

BREW DAY! Cold and wet outside. Perfect day for some BIAB in the kitchen. The grain. The modified recipe. Beginning with a bit of a hot protein rest. I've now got it mashing at 66 degrees C and I'm going to leave it for 90 mins while I try and undermine my wife's belligerence toward my...

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Man! And I thought the Bambino was batting for the other team. Nice wheels.

    Belated greeting

Hi all, I've been signed up to aussiehomebrew for a few months but never introduced myself. Seems a bit rude to just jump into discussions when I haven't even said hello. My latest project is a Fiat Bambino inspired BIAB brew which I plan to make to celebrate the restoration of one in a few...

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Classic! To be fair a Bambino would probably be the least dangerous car to take for a joy ride, as long as it didn't blow up.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Ended up going for a Little Creatures Bright Ale recipe with a few tweeks to the grain bill. Medium crystal will be substituted for the light, cara-red instead of cara-amber and some roast barely to give it a bit of a red hue. Still mulling over the name. Little Red Creature maybe.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Alex.Tas, great idea. A hoppy, red coloured ale sounds fun. Agreed. Bambino may mean child, but we want to raise this beer to be an Italian MAN-child rather than the camp, leather clad, flappy handed variety.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

Ahhh, wish I could do grappa but I don't have a still. Limoncello could work. The card is red but I'm trying to push for the engine to be painted yellow so we could play on that.

WANTED- Suggestions for a Bambino Brew

My brother-in-law-to-be has purchased himself a snappy little Fiat Bambino to restore over the next few months. Its a cute little machine with stacks of character. He says it'll take him about 3 months to get it road-worthy. That gives me plenty of time to get a custom brew together in time to...

    Winter Ale Recipe

I would love to use Wyeasts but they're dashed expensive here. I've got some trusty Safale US-05. As I mentioned in a post above I think I'll split the batch. This could be good opportunity to compare the Safale yeast against the stock standard kit yeast. I've heard a lot of talk about yeast and...
