Fermenting freezer died! Astronomical wort temp!

Never condemn a beer without a taste test, but there's a fair chance it'll be undrinkable swill. :BTDT:

Seeking Advice on Kitchen Remodeling – Need Your Expertise!

You know the stack of 4 drawers in the kitchen Each one 18-20cm high (though these days the fascia is that height, but the drawer inside is often only 8-10cm high ). Cutlery Utensils (always cluttered) Varies (could be rolls of gladwrap/foil/baking paper; could be shopping bags...

    Grain and Grape Closing Down

** This post is purely speculation on my part ** I'd guess that the emergence of the two Ks and their price war has cut into G&G's profit margin significantly. So while the business remains profitable, the tight margins mean that it's difficult/impossible to obtain a business loan (at least on...

Beer excise tax killing off Aussie craft breweries

And the tendency of some brewers to brew increasingly wild and wacky brews. I'll try most brews once, but if I'm buying something to take to a BBQ it'll be a simple beer done well. Not strange grains infused with something exotic and fermented with a weird yeast.

Oxygenation stone for oxygen and carbonation

Couldn't you just put a blast of CO2 through the stone after oxygenating? Surely that would mean it holds CO2 rather than oxygen (if it holds anything -- I have NFI). Can't help with the rest of the questions.

    Black Pudding.

If you want some to tide you over until you have a chance to DIY, these guys do a nice black pudding (so I'm told -- I don't mind it, but it's also the only black pudding I've tried). https://www.pacdon.com.au/our-produce.html List of stockists. https://www.pacdon.com.au/stockists.html They...

Is it just me, or is it REALLY expensive to buy commercially made wine and beer? lol

Several years ago there was a proposal to equalise the alcohol excise between different types of beverages, to eliminate the non-spirit based alcopops that sprang up in the wake of the alcopop tax. The loudest screaming came from the wine industry.

    Boil-off rate calculator

My only experience was due to stupidity. Did a stovetop BIAB at a mate's place, boiling away but volume wouldn't reduce. Eventually noticed condensation running down the wall some distance away 💡. Opened a couple of windows and suddenly the volume started reducing. The beer wasn't very good...

    1-1/4" locknut

What, Panzergewinde? It's a bugger of a thing to find, because so few people have ever heard of it, all you get is, "It doesn't quite match any of the thread gauges. Sorry mate, can't help you."

    1-1/4" locknut

    BILSONS Portello cordial

If you just put sugar (carbonation drop), alcohol and cordial in a bottle there won't be any yeast present to convert the sugar into carbonation. I suspect your problem relates to the temperature of the liquid you are trying to carbonate. What alcohol are you using?

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Allen key or a socket would be better than a screwdriver. Or make the yellow handle removable, with a retaining cable to attach it to the body of the blowtie itself. If you do this, make whatever you use as the drive at the bottom of the removable handle is a standard size (e.g. 6mm hex...
