    I usually mash in 5kg grain in 22 litres. Sparge with around 7 litres and get upto 25 pre boil. Boil off around 2 litres and lose around 2 to trub. End up with 21ish litres at 1.050 gravity. I have used upto 6.3 kg grain and also just topped the 21l up with water to get 23-24 litre batches
