Household power circuits and current ratings

Hey mate As others have pointed out, that Switchboard is not right. You should definately have RCD protection on your GPO circuits. A typical fuse board like that would have 1 x 28A for stove, maybe 3 x 16A for H/W and GPO's and 1 x 10A for lights. I suspect the fuse markings are not correct in...

    Newbie carb concern

Without looking at my notes it was ballpark 250g from memory, whatever beersmith had calculated for the 3.8 vol, I'm pretty sure my problem is not having enough water to mix with, when I poured into bottling bucket, it was like syrup, some got left behind I'm sure, I gave a good stir with...

    Newbie carb concern

Well it's been 2.5 weeks in the bottle now, put one in the fridge, opened up and flat as a tack...... They are grolsch style bottles, thinking of throwing a carb drop in each one? I've got them in a big plastic bin so if there are any bombs then they will be contained. Any thoughts peoples??

    Newbie carb concern

Hi all Looking for some reassurance! I bottled a Weiss beer 6 days ago at an estimated 3.8 vol of carbonation. I know it's early days but was keen for a taste, I put two bottles in fridge yesterday, one was a random the other was the last bottle filled, the last bottle had probably 50mm of...

    glass glass or plastic glass?

This is how I understand it.... Aussie breweries are all now shifting to light weight glass.....to save on costs....both old and new glass have a coating to make the bottles slide together easily, this assists in mass conveyor transport.

BrauWhirlio - Braumeister clone with whirlpool

Hi Lael The plates are only 1mm thick, would have liked thicker but was all I could source, they work ok though as long as you have the support, my mash pipe is not very wide though, so you could run into trouble with a larger diameter pipe. My max grain bill is around 5.2kg, the bottom plate is...

BrauWhirlio - Braumeister clone with whirlpool

First up I was annoyed I took no data through the session, so made up a spreadsheet to record my brew session. Went to work on the PID, could not really get the loop to respond as per a guides I found and tried to follow on tuning, I ended up with PID setting of 70-1-0... So no derivitave. I...

I've had a few enquiries on my brew rig lately and I'm long overdue for an update..so here goes.. After I finished my rig it sat idle for a bloody long time, had a few other things going on and probably put it in the too hard basket for a while.. I finally got my finger out and had a crack, I...

And I answered Neo's question earlier via pm : "The "disc" at the bottom of the pot is a blank plate used on tri clover type fittings, I only used that as it was available to me and was able to put an o-ring in the groove to seal against pot." Cheers Dave

Hi Yes whirlpool pipe into the skim fitting which was drilled out for neat fit, can be a bit of a juggle getting the pipe too mate, but not too bad. I've done 4x brews now and will update this thread when I get around to it, I am still getting my routine down and always forget to take pics on...
