How Do You Finish A Session?

I'm coming to the end of a good night of a wide variety of beers with a good bunch of friends and it's time to plan the end. Normally I finish with something crisp and cleansing - recently it's been APA's - but a good crisp lager has been reliable in the past. Recently though, I've found a...

So What Else Do You Like To Drink?

Wine often, mostly big reds, but I'm always tempted to go back to beer to finish off and someone, somewhere told me that grain to grape is okay, but grape to grain is a problem. Frankly, I think my problem is the amount of grain and grape, not the order!!! Love a good single malt. Mostly the...

It gets lovingly rinsed at the end of a session. Laces perfectly every time. And a tulipy stemmy type thing for more malty aromatics (Belgians...

    Home Made Smoked Malt

Don't be disheartened tony. One. You brew for yourself mainly. If you like it, that's good enough. If your mates like it, even better. Two. Beer judges have styles to judge by to try to keep a degree of objectivity. Some latitude is available with specialty beer classes etc., but you've...

    New Coopers Lagers

It might not be Coopers fault. I'm amazed at how disappointed I am with former favourite beers these days now I can make my beers as malty or as hoppy or as anything else I like to match my tastes. Bloody home brewing versatility!!! But I have to agree. Something a little more oldy worldy...

    Commercial Breweries

Unfortunately even some of the smaller breweries use hop extract... James Squire for example... Mind you, it is owned by Lion Nathan. Moral... You can only trust your own ingredients. Home brew is king.
