I think it could be from last brew, I noticed it when cleaning, I will taste today as I said its external so hopefully doesn't get into beer. I might try soaking it in steriliser. Which I did before making this beer..

I have the new coopers home brew kit and there's brown gunk around the tap, it's not a screw in tap but has the rubber slip together type seals, I have a brew down in the kit now, the infection is external, what should I do? And do you think the brew will be ok?

Just wanted people's thoughts on sugar vs carbonation drops, my first batch I used carbonation drops 2 per 750 ml longneck, I tried after 2 weeks in the bottle and it didn't have the carbonation that I expected, do I just be a bit more patient? Or do I use sugar? The beer I'm making is the...

Thanks for the responses, il just have to see how it goes, I put some soft drink in one bottle and capped it, it didn't leak any gas so fingers crossed, now to put another batch down.

I've got a bench top capper with twist top 700ml longnecks, will they seal ok????
