Depends on what brand it is - I have found some of the cheap ones as usless as... Any extra insulation will definately help.

How about using your bulk priming container(25l bucket). This would keep any bugs away from your fermenter and would appear to be the same as batch sparging.

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Tap-a-draft systems from ibrew. They use a 6 litre bottle with soda type CO2 cylinders for carboanation and dispensing. If it works it looks like a system between going full keg and all bottles. Would be interested in any feedback...
