I agree with bjay. We have XXXX gold as friday afternoon drinks at my work. After making and drinking good homebrew for a year I can no longer tolerate this mass produced shit that tastes like a stryrofoam milkshake.
Bring on the revolution!
Nodrog,
Was your glass really clean when you tried the second bottle. Detergent residues and other impurities on the drinking glass can affect the bubbles and head. There are threads on this site about the best way to clean beer glasses.
Hope you have a good time! Here is a link to the Australian Customs webpage, it should have some info on bringing in beer. http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4258.asp
Thanks,
I don't have the equipment to cold chill but I can certianly leave it in primary for two weeks.
Still not sure wether the finings are worthwhile trying though
Hi,
I am brewing a Coopers IPA that I hopped with boiled EKG pellets (45g) and dry hopped with fuggles (40g). Does anybody know if gelatin finings or any other sort of finings will settle the hop residue. I think that finings will only settle very very small particulates but I am not sure.
I want to make a coopers IPA too. I have some East Kent Goldings and some Fuggles. Could I use the EKG for bittering and the Fuggles dry hopped for aroma and flavour? How would they go together? They are both English.
I just figured this out but it is probably well known in the home brewing faternity.
When emptying long necks hold the upturned bottle vertical and swirl it quickly clockwise. You will easily create a whirlpool. A bottle with a whirlpool will empty faster than one without. Try it!

Beer007 has not got a reply so I thought I would bring this one up again as I am interested too. Has anybody had any experience using it? It would be great to make a truely Australian beer, would Pride of Ringwood go well with Wattleseed?
When you stop drinking you suffer alcohol withdrawal, this is caused by the over production of the chemicals in your brain that cause you to stress and make you feel on edge. If you're heavily addicted to alcohol this over production can make you delirious, even hallucinate and possibly kill you...
