Another facet of the transfer. Inside the fermenter on the thingy port is one of those plastic wort sprayers. I transfer through that, but not the thingy. I first empty a 2L of O2 from a coke bottel filled from my mates O2 cylinder. The chilled wort is sprayed into an oxygen rich fermenter that has not been opened since it was cleaned after the last brew and wont be opened agian till its next clean.. Little chance of introducing bugs and if there are some the O2 will probably kill them and nice oxygenated wort.
