    Coopers With Saflager S.23

Sweet, thanks for the input. Looks like I`ll be able to bump the temp up soon then and have one ready to pour mid spring. Almost finished off my first brew (a Homebrand with a kilo of Noname sugar), only been in the bottle 4 weeks now but beautiful to drink. My wife won`t touch any major beer...

    Coopers With Saflager S.23

I`ll keep measuring. One thing I didn`t mention (in general) which I thought was a problem; to see if mt wort did leak I filled it then turned it upside down. It pours out water at about 2ltr per minute where the lid screws to the top of the wort (threaded area). This seems alot to me.

    Coopers With Saflager S.23

Hi there, not sure if there is a problem here, I`m currently brewing a Coopers Canadian Blonde with S.23 yeast. My wort not being airtight is not bubbling. My initial Gravity was 1042 on 4/9 and today it is at 1024. No obvious signs of fermentation except that in the begining there was foam...

    Bad Brew

Yeah I will keep it. The fermenter is brand new, first brew is this one. I`ll bottler her up and stash it somewhere I`m likely to forget and when I stumble across it in months to come I`ll probably be glad I did. Either that or get ill from drinking crap. Thanks for the tips all

    Bad Brew

Actually tastes like a flat beer and the smell is like beer in the small quantity I poured off to taste. Also my sanitation efforts are very particular down to the tiniest piece of equipment. Made with standard Cooper lager kit and their brewing sugar with supplied yeast. My first go with a...

    Bad Brew

I was suspicious of my airlock never putting out a single bubble. Read through the forums here and decided that my new wort must not be airtight. It`s been 8 days now and I was thinking I might transfer brew to another container for a few days to decrease sediment. When I unscrewed the lid out...

First Ever Brew! Maybe With Problems Already...

Today`s the day then. Same reading as the last couple of days on the hydrometer, (1008) which I thought high so I`m thinking I might rack it into another container for a few more days, get rid of the cloud hopefully too. The wort is no way airtight, when I pour some into the test jar the water...

    Introduce Yourself.

Hi I`m Matt, just started brewing last week as a remedy to keep me from trading on the ASX and losing thousands, ready to bottle now and next brew will try to source a keg so I can get into it quicker. Work as a firey, have wife and 4 kids so need a beeer. I have some friends into brewing who...

First Ever Brew! Maybe With Problems Already...

Yeah, hopefully the temperature inside the brew will be lagging somewhat so it doesn`t have time to catch up to early hour temps as the morning begins to warm the house. I have aquarium heaters laying around unused, has anyone here tried them?

First Ever Brew! Maybe With Problems Already...

Me too, I`ve put down my 2nd brew last Sat night and due to a slight sidetrack that delayed pitching yeast for maybe an hour after K&K mixing. The temp was around 20 maybe 18 as the night got cooler over the hour delay. Anyway to begin with there was a nice krausen formed up and never any...
