    Priming With Raw Sugar

Anyone prime with raw sugar rather than white sugar?

Coopers Stout - Ready For Secondary?

I found that the stout has hardly any sediment in the bottle when compared to other brews. I don't know why this is so, but you can usually drink it right down to the bottom of the bottle without ever getting that yeasty flavour and cloudy texture.

Coopers Stout - Ready For Secondary?

I've made a couple of these, they're quite easy you're right, probably my favourite kit to make. 1014 was what mine finished at too, both times. Why would you want to transfer it? If you get another reading the same why not just bottle it straight away? The brew is a great, easy stout. Next...

Where To Buy A Kit From?

Hey Bozza (JD here from ESB!!!!) I got into this over Christmas. Started with a Tooheys kit from Kmart. It contained the carboy, capper, tooheys draught mixture and pretty much everything you need to do a basic brew (except the bottles). I put together two Tooheys draught mixes but found them...

    Coopers Old Spiced Dark Ale

Good suggestion, thanks Pedro :chug: Are you speaking from experience regarding the bottling side of things? Sounds like you know what it might do??

    Coopers Old Spiced Dark Ale

It's a pretty easy to read thread, I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this recipe and what they thought of it??? Not all of the bullshit that you've carried on with. If it is "below you" to use the brew enhancer kits then that's fine but you shouldn't belittle others if that's their...

    Coopers Old Spiced Dark Ale

    Already tried that.

    Coopers Old Spiced Dark Ale

Has anyone tried the 'old spiced' recipe on the coopers site for their dark ale? 1 X can of dark ale mix 1 X brew enhancer 2 2 X tspn ground cinnamon

    Cleaning Glue Off Bottles

Yeah I've heard that the clear glass might be a problem. I plan on putting a ginger beer mix in these, and yes I have a nice dark cupboard area in the garage where the brews live! Thanks for the tip.

    Cleaning Glue Off Bottles

I have acquired a shit load of 660mL woodstock bourbon bottles. They are clear but are a pretty cool shape. The problem is they have the foil style sticker and whilst the label comes off after soaking the glue residue is really hard to clean. Anyone got any helpful hints?

    Borret's Mill

Looks to me like a bit of a rush job. You clearly haven't taken the time to think about what you're doing. The result is something that looks like a 4 year old has built with a mechano set. :D What do you do for a crust Borrat?

Have You Made A Coopers Stout

I ended up bottling mine after the SG reached and stayed at 1.014. One of the guys on here picked it perfectly. I had the yeast scum marks all over the top of the carboy but it still got down to the 1.014 I also had some trouble with the stout bubbling up out of the airlock. The temp of the...

    Oops! Coopers Stout

Hi mate, Checked the brew this morning, this is day 2. The temp appeared to be edging towards the 24 mark with the wet towel concept. I wet it again and put it back on. It's a cooler day today anyway and it's raining nicely but overall the wet towel seems to be doing OK. I live on the Central...

    Oops! Coopers Stout

OK, fan and towels in action. I know that 30 degrees is way too high, but what can you do when you're at work all day? Will have to invest in an old fridge I think. Thanks guys. Hopefully, the patient will survive!!

    Oops! Coopers Stout

G'day Corey, just checking the temp it's moved up to 30 so that's probably it. But it's a hot day today and where I keep the carboy it never usually gets over a maximum of 26. When I mixed it, it was sitting at 26 Do you suggest I put some wet towels on it to reduce the temp?

    Oops! Coopers Stout

Hey guys, I made up my Coopers Stout, got home today and noticed that the stout had crept up through the airlock! There was only a minor amount of spillage on the top of the lid (that had come up out of the airlock) maybe about 50mls, and the water in the airlock had been replaced with stout...

Have You Made A Coopers Stout

OK, made it up last night. I decided to play it safe for my first go of Stout. I mixed up the coopers stout can with 1kg of the brew enhancer 2 and enough water to take the level to about 19.5 litres. I was going to stay at 18 litres but the wurt seemed a tad to high in temp so I added 1.5...

Have You Made A Coopers Stout

Hey all, Anyone made a Coopers Stout? On the Coopers website the recipe says 1 X can of stout mixture, 1kg Brew Enhancer 2 and 18 litres of water. Just wondering if anyone has tried using the recommended 23 litres of water and what the differences are between the two recipes?
