    colonial small ale recipe

I have made a few changes to my recipe and have departed from the Colonial malts a bit by adding some rye. The hop profile now seems about right and it tastes pretty damn good and is fairly close to the original (at least according to a few mates). Latest recipe: Guten 75% efficiency Batch...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

What are the thoughts of Stellarsan as a hand sanitiser? Does anyone have any information on haw long Stellarsan (or starsan) remains effective in an open air environment such as in a 2-3L bowl? Also, would this sanitiser have any effect on viral strains such as COVID-19? With the shortage of...

    Corny identification

One of them at least looks like a Kegland branded keg, so I'd say it should just be a matter of unscrewing the posts and replacing them with regular gas and liquid ball lock posts.

Pressure Ferment - Closed Transfer to Keg

Personally, I just use the Ross keg transfer method. 1: Purge the receiving keg (by pushing out starsan solution with CO2) so the pressure is about 15-20 psi. 2: Put the fermzilla/pressure fermenter (with residual pressure at between 10-15 psi) on a table above the receiving keg. 3: Connect...

    colonial small ale recipe

Hi Andy, I used US-05 in my recipe, am not sure what Colonial actually use though. My recipe lacked a bit of the fruity flavour compared to the original, so when I redo, I will be adding some Citra at the whirlpool stage and upping the amount in the dry hop.

Afraid not. I was only really interested in the Small Ale and thought that I was pushing my luck asking for that!

Problem Discussion Thread: Mini Keg Regulators

Looks good Kee. Any thoughts of adding a ball lock post as one of the output options? You could keep this in rather than the plug so it is still sealed when not in use while having a secondary connection option while travelling.

    Fermentation temp control in winter

I also use an old fridge as a fermentation chamber and tried disconnecting the cooling on the fridge as my initial temperature was about 14 degrees and I wanted to ferment at 18 degrees. Big mistake, within 24 hours, temperature had shot up to 24 degrees. Admittedly, I did have 2 cornies going...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Not sure if this has been asked before, but is there any reason why ball-lock connectors do not come with integrated push in fittings rather than barb or MFL? I appreciate that you combine a Ball-lock with MFL connector with the push-in / MFL adaptors to achieve the same, but this just seems to...
