    The GF a control has its own temp sensor so I made a thermowell and a bracket which holds the temp probe about 1/3 rd up the liquid level next to the overflow tube where I figure I get a more accurate temp than the Guten temp probe which is next to the heating elements on the base

    I found the Guten control frustrating as I couldn’t change any parameters mid brew and also due to the height of my brewery I couldn’t raise the Guten and remove the malt pipe comfortably so I got a grainfather control box and wired that in (with plugs so I didn’t have leads getting in the way...

    I got an golf bag buggy motor for $75 delivered It’s geared and will crush wheat like it isn’t there Direct drive connection. I wired it up so that I had reverse in case it jammed but have never had to use it Better that a battery drill and cheaper

    Fair point. It looks t a bit like the jacket comes with the hoses attached and with a purpose built plug on the end to go into the glycol unit (but I could be wrong) I’ve got a couple of the cool zone jackets (from America and cost twice as much and are shorter). They came with short hoses attached

    I’d use either dripless connectors (male and female from AliExpress if you really wanted to separate them or use hose barb joiners and clamp the hoses

    Do you move the fermenter when it’s full? Once you have cold crashed and emptied the fermenter do you clean in place? Or move it to clean? Either way once the jacket has warmed up it would then be pliable enough to remove it and store until it’s put back onto the fermenter I use a glycol...

    That’s the coil not the glycol unit. The glycol unit won’t come into the web page for about another 3 weeks
