    Mead batch number 2.

Righteo, through the week I bottled the cinnamon and clove batch. This one is smoooooooth as shit!! Doesn’t really have “taste” per se but it’s definitely smooth. Not sweet, not dry. Can just taste the honey and no strong alcohol “burn”. I like it, my test subjects like it so I think it’s a win...

Yep, I’ve asked. Her answer is can’t be bothered. I’m telling you, lazy! Haha. I think she thinks because she does sport she doesn’t need to do anything else. We’re in an extremely friendly, small town in country Victoria. Not much happens here and we know lots of people on the way to her...

Couple of younger kids at home to watch otherwise I would. She’s not completely lazy, I’ll give her that. It’s just when it comes to walking to a friends house. She’s recently been selected into the U15’s development squad with a possible gig in the U16’s & U18’s in the girls football district...

How ******* lazy teenage kids are these days!! My daughter turns 15 on the 24th but won’t walk to her friends house and home again who lives about 700m away... Gave the old “when I was your age” tale (which is actually true though!) that when I was her age I used to walk about 3-4kms to my mates...

    From the Bush

I’m just cooking up some venison rissoles. It’s a mix my butcher did from a sambar I shot. He made up some strass, cabana and sausages and this was left over mince from the snags. I rolled them in egg, crumbed them with some parmesan cheese and put some seasoning salt in the crumbs.

    First mead

From all I have read, bulk aging is better. Me personally, with my JAOs I’ve waited around the 2 months from first mix to bottling. I bottle into 750ml wine bottles and if there’s not a full bottle left I will use stubbies. As you might have read in some of my Mead threads, I’m either not...

    Murray’s Brewery Port Stephens

Had a shot as a taster of the watermelon one. Was a nice drink. As you said, easy to drink. That place could be dangerous with the easy to drink beers.... haha.

    Murray’s Brewery Port Stephens

That outside “beer garden” area is bloody awesome! We’ve been looking for an acreage lot down here in Vic (40ac plus) and I told the missus that if we get one on any sort of hill that I want to do a deck like the one there. One change I’d do is add a big stone fireplace in the middle.

    Murray’s Brewery Port Stephens

I’ve just moved on from a 10 day holiday in the Port Stephens area and on recommendation from a few members here I went to Murray’s for a beer. We were there about 4 days ago so I can’t recall exactly how everything was but I know if I’d have another or not. Firstly, it was single handedly...
