    Beer And Grass

While talking about weed back there, I am suprised that it has not come up about the old trick, of grafting the top of a young hops plant onto the root stock of a marijuana plant to get your hops full of THC. Hops and the good old weed are close relatives in the plant world. Cousins in fact, and...

    New Kit: Coopers European Lager

It sure is. If your going to rack to a secondary then just go purchase a hops tea bag from the brew shop, sanatise a coffee cup and throw in some boiling water. Throw in your tea pag and let it sit for 10 mins or so. Then put the whole lot in your secondary and leave for a week or so. It should...

    New Kit: Coopers European Lager

This is a great kit for experimenting with. Does not matter really what you do, its going to turn out pretty good if you ak me. All the modification suggestions on here have been great if you ask me. The kit is a bit low on aroma as has already been suggested, so make sure no matter what you do...

    New Kit: Coopers European Lager

I have made this kit a number of times now, and in my opinion it is one of the best kits out there. Comes out true to style. A bit of waiting also helps it a lot, but if you like the euro lagers as I do, then this one is a winner. Does not seem to get the twang like so many other kit cans do...

    Canadian Beer Recipes/kits

Most Woolworths ans BIG W stores sell the Coopers Canadian Blond kit. MOst brew shops sell at least one Canadian Blond kit as well of various brands. They are a simple kit to do and easy to obtain.

    Using Hops For Insomnia Relief?

Brew yourself a good Amarillo Ale and hop the hell out of it. And I mean hop the hell out of it, so it smelsl like grass clippings even. Even dry hop it with amarillo. Up the sugars so it gets an FG somewhere over 6%. One of the best beers I have had that put you out like a light in no time...

    Secrets Of A Sweet Cider

I have found with Cider and Ginger beer you need to ad double the lactose to what most recipes say to get it sweet, if you like it that way. LActose will make anything sweet, it just all depends on how much you add to your batch. Its non fermentable, so you won't get bottle bombs when adding it...

    Wheat Beer Kits

They sure do make a better beer then any kit beer. Wetpaks take a bit more effort to make, but the results are well worth it. I love the comments that BiLo and Brigalow kits make good beer. I suppose when you don't know any better, it doesn't matter. :D

    Wheat Beer Kits

I have not tried the Country Brewer Wheat or Wheat wetpak. The wet packs are not seasonal, they sell them all year round. But I find their kits and stuff pretty good. Never had a beer that was ba from them. Actually doing my second Southbern Lager wetpak at the moment. Did one last October and...

    Wheat Beer Kits

I think with kits you get what you pay for. The Coopers kits are generally OK, but the better kits which you pay a bit more for in my opinion give you a much better finished beer. Go with the best you can afford is what I rekon.Long as the costs of your brew generally don't go over the cost of...

    Dry Hopping Primary...

You can dry hop with pellets straight into the fermenter, or tea bags, or hops in a stocking. It does not really matter that much. As long as the hops come into contact witht he liquid wort and get to soak in it, so the flavour and aroma is leeched out of the hops. Chucking pellets in is one of...

    The Supermarket Challenge

Far as I know, it can be used for any yeast. But considering most people don't bother racking ales anyway, there is probably no point.

    Dry Hopping Primary...

I usually chuck a teabag type hobs bag into the primary after a week. Seems to do the trick and give you the aroma you want.

    Chill Haze

When I do K&K beers I always rack to a secondary and give it another week fermenting, then if possible chuck it in the fridge and give it a cold condition for a week or so. Never had chill haze doing this. Also get a nice crisp and clear beer thats as clear as the commercial megaswills. But it...

    The Supermarket Challenge

A diacetyl rest ( bad spelling last time, sorry ) is done toward the end of the fermentation, to let the yeast absorb the diacetly, which can add some off buttery like flavours to your beer. Racking is a brew term meaning that you drain your wort into a second fermenter, usually for the purose...

    Corona Clone

Back onto the subject or Corona itself, I would not think it would have a huge opertunity to be light struck anyway. Once bottled at the brewery they are pretty much put straight into the cases, and usually remain there until most customers are ready to drink them. Of course you will get those...

    Fruits In Beers

Hi ALL. Had this recipe lying around for a while now, but I have not made it yet. Seems to go against many of the things people say when making a fruit beer. Passion Lager ( makes 23l batch) Any light Lager kit ( Coopers or Morgans are good ) 40g of Nelson Sauvin hops Can of Morgans lager malt...

    The Supermarket Challenge

I have been brewing for a number of years now, and done many of the Coopers kits, as well as other kits and a few extracts ( not game enough to go to AG as yet). Currently drinking one of the Coopers Euro Lagers, which I got from Big W, and used Brew Enchancer 2 as well ( So your basic...

    Corona Clone

Last time I drank a Corona and a Sol I did note a hop aroma, though not a strong one. After doing some research on why people put lemon or lime wedges in Corona when they drink it the answer was simple, and slightly disturbing to say the least. From what I have read, the beer, being in clear...

    Corona Copy- Morgans Chairman Cerveza

Corona does have hops in it. It has a distinct hop finish and slight aroma as well. They use Galena hops in Corona, which is a bit hard to source. Far as I know Craft Brewer is the only place to get them. I made the Chairmans Cortez Cerveza late last year. It was not a bad drop but nothing like...
