Im waiting for my 462 to turn up in the post, can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a water level measument or volume to feed back into it?
I was thinking a pressure transducer on my HLT to give me a water volume or a flow meter on the fill line. This would then control the water supply...
Awesome Rig Duck, ive just ordered my BCS-462 today, Planning an automated 1V set up, hopefuly a bit more compact. I have all the gear now so i just need to go and build it. Ill give myself a decent time frame and aim to be drinking quality beer by the end of the year.
So ill follow this thread...
Mate you've cracked it!!! thats exactly the way to make a temp right. fill it with glycol, recirc pump for the flooded font and stainless coils for the beer!!!
Yep they suck. I got one of those too thinking i only needed it to control the heating element in my mash, but it was crap because of the one degree thing too. I was putting up with it while i was running a brew for the first and then it let the magic smoke out. THE END.
Dont feel bad eMPTy...
Nar the beer will still freeze and cause dramas, we messed around and managed to freeze the beer lines. (Could burst the exchanger)
Bigger volume in the exchanger is the the solution. If its a stag party and only one day/night I would go with something like Buckerooni posted.
The only reason...
I dont know foles, i kinda like the brewboss's DIY look. But if i could get a 50l grainfather for $1500 i would snap that up. The braumeister is just too pricy for one big lump of cash, i would never get that past SWMBO. She doesn't even drink so absolutely no understanding of the importance. I...
Yea Brutus im gonna hold off for bit, i've got a feeling that the USD is gonna get a little better soon. hopefully  . Ive ordered one of those controllers from Lael to get me brewing while I build my rig, figure i can build all the automated mechanical bits first and test it out manually...
So Few good setup's there. Only one crazy awesome rig i can see that is not ice dependent posted by nvs-brew's.
After yob mentioned it a plate chiller would probably work alright  perhaps sit it in a little water bath in the bottom of the fridge then plumb it up as a dual pass. Might be a...
Just thought i would share this.
Last year my dad and myself did quite a bit of prospecting in outback WA. We were usually away for a minimum of 2 weeks just relying on solar to charge the metal detectors and keep the beer cold. Well, we came up with this idea, keeping the beer cold and leaving...
I haven't, but we can't get too carried away as we have to keep the order under $1000 AUD otherwise well get stung with GST and possibly the other random 100-200 dollar processing fee from customs.
As for the bigger unit i sort of figured i would love to have the braumeister 50l but only have the budget for the grainfather. Did a bit of sniffing around and decided i could build my own 50l jobby for around the cost of a Grainfather. Ill be honest I know in 12 months time I'll look at what i...
It was just some pictures of some copper pipe and glass jars, nothing interesting really, Oh and a cool old car. And just to be clear the Keg that was pictured in those pictures was paid for by the publican whose premises it came from. One of my mates.
Thats what i wanted to hear, ok. I think im doing this. I told the wife yesterday im building a brewery, first queston i get is "how Big? where?"
lol who really knows. But if Ashnan is anything to go by, fairly sizable for one drinker.
