    Refractometer usage

I've used this calculator and it's never missed a beat. Tested against my hydrometer it seems to be right on the money. http://seanterrill.com/2012/01/06/refractometer-calculator/

    New Brewery Build

Not to jack this thread, but I just received ANOTHER wrong order from Online2014. Ridiculous. We'll see how this plays out. I ordered an Ø89mm clamp cover and received a Ø102mm clamp cover. I need to find a local supplier with decent pricing. I've requested a refund. Let's see how this goes.

    New Brewery Build

It almost seems like a way of business for many of these import sellers, 2014online included. A couple of the others are AUWarehouse and av-rf. Solaluna88 are FAST shippers with decent prices and STAY AWAY from beautyzz2009 or any seller that also sells rubber dicks and crotchless panties as...

    New Brewery Build

Here's an isometric cut-away of what the layout looks like. This drawing is representative only and not exactly how I weld in fittings, but you get the idea. Malleable pipe/threaded unions are just as hard to clean and I reserve their use in very high pressure or steam applications for...

That kit is looking very sexy Moad!! We still have some work to do but in the end it's all worth it!

    Aldi specials

That's a bit of a broad statement don't ya think? It is a self-serve store and some of the stuff has a bit to be desired, but all in all, it's a fairly good place for a bargain. I've gotten some really good "no name" gear outta there, but I'm not a brand whore so I guess the shoe fits.

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

I'm going to give it a try and see myself. Would love to make it happen wireless. None of my builds have the LCD or rotary switch/encoder. All my gear is hidden behind the fridges anyway.

How I made my Brewpi wifi with esp8266

I don't think I'd trust a Raspberry Pi to do the job of a controller. They are just too unstable. There are not many micro-processors I would trust. Why risk your brew over $20 in gear that will be rock solid for years and years? Elco Jacobs, the original programmer and designer of the...

How I made my Brewpi wifi with esp8266

I'm impressed it's all hardware driven (on the Arduino at least). The temptation is there to give the blue-tooth a go as well but I'm thinking it's not that easy and might have to load libraries. That's impossible to do on with a HEX flash. I'll have to research it up a bit.

How I made my Brewpi wifi with esp8266

Wow!! That's awesome. I'm ordering 6 tonight!! Can't wait to get this up and running too.

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

I was flirting with going totally wireless but I've just now got it up and running reliably with multi-chamber wired. It shouldn't matter what protocol you use for comms as long as your deviced can support it. Everything is addressed through the rules so it's just a config change and youd be up...

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

That really shouldn't matter as the multi setup uses device paths set in rules. You tell it where your device is through udev rules so you don't re-arrange your device paths on a reboot. I know for certain the CH340G and U16Atmel USB to serial bridges have different drivers and somehow you've...

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

This effectively installs 0.4.0 and then re-installs 0.2.4 It's possible a call for a driver that I didn't know exists occurs with the master install. It's also possible the arduino-core has been upgraded to include CH340G drivers. That would be awesome as a LOT of people have the new $5 uno...

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

That's interesting!! If that's the case, it's awesome news as up until now, the CH340G (CH240G was a typo) has not been supported by the manufacturer on Raspbian Wheezy. I'd love more information so we can incorporate it in the future. 1. Are you running Jessie or Wheezy? 2. Are you running...

I've got the Multi-chamber thread started here if anyone wants to have a look.

    Multi-Chamber Arduino Brewpi

I've been doing a lot of work with Jonathan Groner of Heroic Ales in Virginia with his instructable on making a multi-chamber brewpi based on the Arduino uno instead of the more expensive (and MUCH less DIY) Proton controller board. As the original Arduino design has been phased out in favour of...

    Aldi specials

As for quality, this mob has the best product. I buy their bulk vacuum 100 um bags for chamber vacuum Sous vide and have absolutely no complaints. I go through 1000+ a year. They also have micro-channel bags but I don't know how the price compares. http://pacfood.com.au/shop/index.php

Particle Photon (as used in Brewpi controller)

I've just finished making a 3 chamber raspberry Pi/Ardiuno Uno (x3) and it required a huge amount of rework to make happen with the latest code. If anyone is interested I'm happy to make a thread on that. The old set of instructions don't work to make this build. I've also gotten a SD card...
