First all grain, BIAB recipe conversion

I mail ordered my grain bill, shipping was like $12... hey, still cheaper than a kit! I won't be buying bulk yet, I don't have anything yet that's air tight to store large amounts of grains

First all grain, BIAB recipe conversion

It just clicked and wandered... I adjusted the grain bill for 1.050 but i just remembered that I'm adding 450g of honey. how much will 450g of honey effect my gravity? should i re-adjust for the original grain bill which was slightly less in quantities? I've already ordered my grains, but...

First all grain, BIAB recipe conversion

Hello fellow brewers!... after much research and etc, I have come to the conclusion that after a few brews the best path to take is getting to all grain ASAP. after further research in all grain and going to a grain and grape demo of a BIAB I feel I'm ready to tackle a BIAB. gear = 40 litre...

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

screwtop, are you suggesting that my beer may actually be finished fermenting just with a high gravity? at 1.019? interesting!... well, i could bottle it and store it in a place where if it does bottle bomb, it will not damage or soil anything. then i can begin my Grain and Grape wort. edit...

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

it has been in the fermenter for 3 weeks, its a cascade imperial voyage pale ale, brew enhancer #15 and the included yeast in the kit/can lid I left the sample to sit for another 2 hours same gravity reading and there is a lot of sediment in the tube.

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

Hey guys, Heth here! I've done another test now since giving the fermenter a twist to dislodge the yeast and it is still at 1.019.... so my question to you guys! can i pitch a coopers yeast? my friend has heaps of them and said i can have one. I don't believe the fermentation is finished and...

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

I'm happy to wait! I planned on letting it age in the bottle for like 6 weeks anyway. when i make my stout I'm going to age it for 3 months + I have a leather bound journal i purchased in a small town in Ireland in 2008 that I've never had a use for until now, So I'll bet taking tasting...

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

I have a kit can of cascade imperial voyage pale ale, I used the included yeast I'll try that technique when measuring. I'll sit back, give it a tickle and relax, don't worry and have a home brew.

Hi all, new to brewing, and i have a question too!

degassed? I'm not sure. I lifted the fermenter onto the table and let it sit for a few mins... I turned the tap and took a sample, during this i did not remove the airlock from the top. after taking the sample I let the sample sit on the bench for about 5 minutes to let the bubbles disappear...
