Cheers Galbrew - Yeastcalc indicates two 4L step ups will do the job. Hopefully 36 hours for each step will be enough?

    Enough Yeast Cells?

Hi all, Have a WYEAST Lager smack pack with a May date which according MRMalty is at 10% viability. Im a bit unsure about his calculator as he's telling me to use several packs and a shite load of starter to get my cell count up to 500 million cells. I pitched my starter in to a litre of wort...

    No Chilled IPA

Would replacing late additions with dry hopping produce same results?

    No Chilled IPA

Dummie run is a great idea. Based on Dr Smurtos method I'm assuming we want the flame out hops to remain at high temps for 20 minutes to release aromas... So what would the base temp be? ie once temp drops to x the aroma release from hops will drastically reduce?

    No Chilled IPA

So I'm keen on getting great flavouring and aroma in an IPA similar to a Hop Hog for example and wanted some advice on how to get this with current chilling method of dumping stockpot in laundry sink. Was thinking of dropping in flame out addition after 10 mins in the sink, obviously with as...

    Little Creatures Pale Extract Recipe

Hi Carniebrew, I had a crack at your recipe above on Saturday as my second brew attempt and first extract brew. I poured a sample from the fermenter yesterday after 4 days and beer was very murky and left a whole lot of oily greenish white sludge at the bottom of the glass. It smelled and...
