High Watt Density element for brew kettle

You could wire multiple high-density elements in series perhaps?

idea to stop gas leaks <$30

Good point, didn't think of that. Maybe holding the reset button for a full second causes the controller to ignore leaks for a couple of days. Or you could just press the reset button every day while carbonating, or the supply to the carbonating kegs could bypass this. Yes it's like a flow...

idea to stop gas leaks <$30

Every time you make/break a connection (swap a keg etc) you can create a new leak so you need to constantly monitor for it.

idea to stop gas leaks <$30

To find a gas leak the first idea is to use a flow sensor, but the flow rate of a leak is so low it can't be measured reliably. I have an idea for a system to detect a leak and turn off the gas supply, and I'm pretty sure the parts would cost less than $30 (from ebay). It requires: - solenoid...

    Intel Galileo

Thanks for the heads up, I applied. I have a lot of development boards, not wanting to be a buzz kill but this one looks strange. The board's IO is Arduino compatible (it even has 5V levels and decent current output), but the chip is a 400MHz Pentium and it has 256MB RAM so it's not quite...

    BrewBit on Kickstarter

Just got mine (international version) about 1wk ago. Their forum is pretty active, might be the best place to ask about alternative uses.

    BrewBit on Kickstarter

I also pre-ordered (the international version (using IEC sockets) with two probes). Their case mold looks really good too although the size of the power connectors cause everything to be so boxy. As an electronics nerd I want to see the design files(schematics and source). They use quite a...

Marthos Brauduino - Another odd problem

Hi I've added CRC checks to temperature readings. Can't figure out how to attach a file so here are the changes (based on comparison with brauduino2.txt posted by Matho in this thread 10th June): Line 71: Change size of data from 2 to 9: byte data[2]; byte data[9]; Line 213: Read 9 bytes...

    BrewBit on Kickstarter

Hi Brian, I'm a c/c++ programmer and was working on a touchscreen fermentation controller also (but using this and this), and was also thinking dreaming about selling a mold to mount a touchscreen/microcontroller combination. You are living my dream! Anyway I have some geek questions for you...

    'battle Of The Toucans'

Hi guys, just doing my first toucan (4th brew overall). I've bought: 2x Coopers APA 1kg LDME Nottingham yeast for a 23l batch. Is this a good recipe? I also have 1kg dextrose on hand, what would happen if I throw that in? About to go to jaycar to get a tempmaster fridge controller kit...
