    Priming

Upon cleaning & sterilising my 2nd fermenter ready to rack, i discovered it has a small crack rendering it useless. I thought i might bottle straight from the primary, my question is can I use my dextrose that I usually use for bulk priming to individually prime each bottle, if so are the...

    Fermenter Smell

G'day, After bottling my last brew I thoroughly cleaned out my fermenter, however I noticed that the smell hasnt completely gone. Of course, I will strilise the fermenter prior to making my next batch but i'm worried this smell will affect the brew. Should I keep cleaning until the smell is...

    Strange Activity

G'day, Only on my 2nd kit brew, my first turned out well although I had no activity in my airlock - no problem - i just looked for other signs of fermentation & took hydrometer readings. With my current brew once again there is no bubbling in the airlock. It had an OG of 1043, 3 days...

    Fermentation Completion & Bottling Time

G'day, How long after fermentation ceases is it safe to leave the wort in the fermenter? I've read posts were brewers leave it it for up to 14 days, but I thought that not bottling ASAP after fermentation can ruin your brew through over oxidising. Cheers.
