Excellent Asher. Either day is fine for me. I hope you are going to be filling that conical :P

    Ss Mash Tun

Excellent Monkale. Very similar to mine, but I went for an aluminium pot. Are you planning to step mash on a burner? Can you give more details of the insulation you have used, it looks good.

    Sandgroper Christmas Case 2006 Consumption

Vlad - Transylvanian Pale Ale Cloudy and light on carbonation. Plenty of hop flavour and complexity, some chalkiness - lots of gypsum maybe? Nice ale. Simon W - Hopburst Amber Ale A good enjoyable beer. Lightly carbonated, virtually no head, cloudy. Colour more like a pale ale. Hop flavour...

    Manjimup (wa) Cherry Festival

Well done Grabman :beerbang: Good to see all your hard work is paying off. Any chance that one of the four remaining bottles could make it to the next WCB meeting

    1. Guest Lurker aka Captain Sensible - Green Tea Rice Lager (with apologies to Asher). Bottle conditioned, Munich 2308, just bottled, let it gas up till about 10 January. Dont expect the chill haze to go away. 2. Corellion 3. Vlad the Pale Aler, Transylvanian Pale Ale (BJCP 27a), bottle...

    West Coast Brewers

Thats a great idea Deebee. Can we extend this to pH meters as well? I would love to see how mine compares to others especially at around mash pH. I can bring along some pH7 buffer and some citric acid to make up a solution to say 5.4 if others are interested.

Lactic Or Phosphoric Acid In Perth

Does anyone know where to get food grade lactic or phosphoric acid in Perth from? Any of the HBS stock it?

    Perth Brewday Early Nov Anyone?

Didn't really pitch that late. Made the starter on Wed. Brewed on Saturday, but was only able to chill to 30C with my immersion chiller. So whacked it in the fridge for several hours to get it down to 22C and then pitched the starter. Now it's sitting at 20C and is going along nicely. Would...

    Perth Brewday Early Nov Anyone?

It was one of the water bottles, so there was a decent amount of yeast to start with. Just pitched tonight, so will hopefully be going in the morning.

    Perth Brewday Early Nov Anyone?

Pitched my yeast straight into a starter and it was off like a rocket within an hour. Certainly some healthy yeast in there. And ready to be pitched into a bitter tomorrow. Thanks again Ausdb!

    Perth Brewday Early Nov Anyone?

Ausdb Great day. What an exercise in multitasking. Three mash tuns, a couple of HLTs and kettles all requiring attention and you made it look easy. Well done. Wish I could have stayed till the end. Can't wait to sample the results. Thanks again.

Excellent, I'll be there. Will bring some of my GP summer ale if it is worthy. And will see what food the missus can whip up this time.

    Mills In Wa

$193 - wow! I paid $60 for 9 meters about 6 months ago. They did do a recall, so maybe they don't do the cheap stuff anymore. http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...c=10687&hl= And there is always the option of a plate chiller...

    Mills In Wa

Yeh you're right Mika, I could do with the attention  TWOC has the prices on their website, but try ringing them to see what they have in stock if you need one in the next two weeks. http://www.homebru.com.au/crankandstein_mills.htm Building a hopper is fairly easy, so if you go with a...

    Sparging

I agree Justin. I used to have a copper sparge arm with lots of holes drilled to distribute the liquor over the grain bed. But after seeing Barfridge do a brew day in Perth, I put the sparge arm in the "wish I hadn't bothered pile" and just coil a hose up on top of the grain bed. As long as...

    Arrogant ******* Ale

Thanks Trent. I do like the Anchor Steam, had it on tap and it is a nice session beer. Redhook ESB is available at the local Safeways so will pick up a bottle to try. So much to drink and so little time :D

    Arrogant ******* Ale

Vlad it is your lucky day. Have some Ruination in the fridge, and so long as customs don't have an IBU limit then a bottle should make it to WCB. Doc, haven't seen any Dogfish Head around here, but will keep my eyes open for the others. Also picked up a bottle of Vertical Epic 06...

    Arrogant ******* Ale

Just finished drinking an Arrogant ******* in its homeland. It has alot of flavour for a beer of 7.2%. Must be 15 minutes since I finished it and I can still taste the hops. It is one of the better American beers that I have tried but once again it has the over the top piney American hops that...
