    Aldi specials

Bought two Adventuridge camping chairs today for $40 each. Will see if they hold up but seem good quality compared to similar product from BCF or the like for double the price.

I just throw mine in loose and let 'em swim around.

Will I need a whirlfloc tablet?

Wouldn't say whirfloc is a necessity especially in a dark beer such as a stout. But in saying that I've used it in every AG brew I have done so far. Funnily enough its helped me keep track of how many AG brews i have done haha. Just bought a new pack (10 tabs) this morning and realised its the...

    How do you secondary?

Have never done a secondary. I'm sure it would come in handy when certain beers require a long rest time but other than that i am not too concerned. Also I'm super lazy.

Black Duck Brewery & Bar Port Macquarie

Stopped in there in November last year on holiday. Nice little spot. Could definitely see myself having quite a few beers there if i was a local.

    Noob Kegging questions

Rocker1986 i think he might mean its hard to see where the beer is filling to when he uses starsan to sanitise his keg, as the foam pours out the top of the keg as it is filling. As to the OP, like previously mentioned, as long as the beer level does not fill over the gas dip tube all is good.

2nd brew and looking for advice on temps and sugar

Have not used either of the cans of extract before so cannot comment on them but i would assume (and you know what they say about assumptions) that the yeast would be ale yeast, although i could be well wrong. I would mix the 500gm LDME with 5L of water. Bring it to boil and do some late hops...

    (US)$40 bottle of Guinness

Still alot of money to spend on a beer. But in saying that there are many worse things to spend money on. Also $40 is only about 5 schooners of shite beer at the pub now days anyway so might aswell spend it on something you like.

    (US)$40 bottle of Guinness

Switching back to bottling from kegs

Moving to kegging for me basically kept me brewing. There's no way i can picture myself still brewing now and bottling.

    Starsan in beer

    I would dump it.

    First dry hopping attempt.

Currently drinking a beer that I accidentally let dry hop for about 3-4 weeks......Grassiness is an understatement haha.

    Bottle conditioning vs kegging

I've been kegging for quite some time now but have mainly gone the route of natural carbonation to save on cost of gas (as stingy as that sounds). I have never considered the second fermentation contributing to off flavours before but it has me interested.

    First BIAB/All Grain

You are right man, BIAB, is in my opinion the easiest, cheapest and best way to get into all grain. Originally i started setting up for a 2v esky mashtun setup when getting into all grain. I got impatient and bought a cheap BIAB bag and did a brew. Haven't looked back. Its so simple. I actually...

    My First BIAB Ag

Can't wait to try this beer it smells amazing. Yeah definetely keeping records to help with brewmate. After i get a few brews under my belt i should be able to get a better prediction on volumes, efficiencies etc. Already planning the next one with a few adjustments so will hopefully come closer...

    My First BIAB Ag

Hi all, Just finished brewing my first ever all grain BIAB beer. I decided to do the Dr Smurtos golden Ale recipe as i have done the kit version before which turned out great. Will have to do a few adjustments in Brewmate in regards to evaporation % and grain absorbtion as i only ended up with...
