Using gas line splitter inside fridge

Individual non return valves are great if you force carb and forget to release the pressure before connecting your other kegs.

    Tassie Trip

Plenty in Hobart Preachers will have plenty to choose from in Hobart Also The good people at preachers have taken over the bottle shop at what used to be The Mayfair hotel in Sandy Bay. It's now being called The Abbey. Haven't been there yet but their FB photos suggest a good range. Did the...

    Can I Save It?

Around 3 weeks. It will probably take another month or so before I have all my kegs full, so I won't be rushing to tip it out yet. Having not come across these flavours before in my brews, my best guess is too much of a good thing, but as I'd never done a boil I'm in new territory.

    Can I Save It?

From memory the OG was 1.045 and FG was around 1.008. I got the yeast going before I pitched it, and then not much happened for two days. It was my first time using US05 so I didn't know to expect. Then I had 8 days of active fermentation. I let it sit for another five days before I kegged it.

    Can I Save It?

Hi I'm after some advice on my first extract brew which was aiming to be a stone and wood pacific ale clone. I followed this recipe I haven't done the dry hopping yet, and I had an extra 10gms left over which I added at 0 minutes I tasted it prior to kegging when I checked the SG and there...

    Best $$$ You've Spent

    1. Kegging set up. I wouldn't have got back into brewing without it. 2. STC 1000 wired up to a free fridge. Ferment temp consistency rocks. 3. Star San. A splash of boiling water and a spray of star San is most of my cleaning theses days. 4. No sugar and no dextrose. The bottom 3 are what I...

    Growing Hops

I've just planted my first hop, so I,m no expert. My research tells me they like full sun so if you run them east to west then they shouldn't block the sun from each other as much when they grow. Having said that, I've seen pictures of them in a circle layout so not sure if it matters too much...

    Wanted: Hop Rhizomes In Tas

Thanks for the ideas. I am hobart based, Bushy Park isn't too far away but I don't think I can just turn up with a shovel  Thanks for the offer of the POR Nathan, I doubt I would get much use out of the variety, but appreciate the offer. I've put an email into hopco and will wait...

    Wanted: Hop Rhizomes In Tas

Hi I am keen to grow some fresh hops this year but haven't been able to source any in Tassie or find anyone willing to post them (due to the quarantine laws) It would be great if anyone could provide a lead for a local supplier. Cheers Ted

Who Got Beer Off Their Kids For Fathers Day?

    Free Craft Glasses At Bws!

Dropped into BWSon Friday night and picked up a 6e of white rabbit white ale to try and a couple of glasses. Was impressed with both beer and glasses. SWMBO also liked glasses and would have liked the beer more if it wasn't a carb, she suggested I get some more. Now a proud owner of six...

    Beginner Kegging Set-up

Same people as mybeershop.com.au. I've had that tap and reg for 12 months without issue. Have a think about how're your setting the tap up, the short shank isn't good for pushing through a fridge door.

    4 Pines Kolsch

I had a bottle of the Kolsch at the tassie beer fest. Tasted great. Grabbed it from a bottlo that isn't known for craft beer and it was drinkable, but the flavours were average. But I've found the situation is in no way limited to one brewery or bottle shop. I've loved S&W pacific ale...

    Tasmanian Beer Festival

The bagpipes was not good, but I think I could taste where he was trying to go with it. Friends have told me it's been on top at the New Sydney and built a bit of a following. But there was no way I could get through a tasting sample, let alone a pint of it. Thumbs down to little creatures for...

Keeping Beer In Kegs Outside The Fridge

I store mine in the shed without any dramas Probably goes without saying you should at least purge the air from the keg before storing. I prefer to carb it up if I have the time to chill it down.

    Selling Home Few

This is good if you already have a craft brewery, but it won't help you over the excise hurdle. It would be great pocket money if you could take 100 long necks to the farmers market once a month, but unfortunately I dont see it happening for the home brewer, ever.

Need Help Setting Up A Ferm Fridge

I have scored a fridge in the same condition. It just keeps running until I plugged it into my stc 1000. My question is, is it worth the trouble to rewire the original thermostat out of the circuit! Or will it reliably stay broken?
