    Wyeast Trappist Blend

Sorry for the late response j1gsaw. My OG was 1058.

    Wyeast Trappist Blend

Yep, initial (standard) fermentation was over in a few weeks. The krausen dropped, the weather warmed up, the pellicle formed (just a fine white film and filmy bubbles). Two and a half months after pitching the yeast it was bottled. Really simple, bloody good!

    Wyeast Trappist Blend

I would increase the temperature. Mine seemed to enjoy the warmer temp.

    Wyeast Trappist Blend

I brewed with this yeast recently. I didn't have much to go on as it was fairly new and I couldn't find any feedback at the time. I was looking to get a similar flavour and aroma to Orval, and from memory, it has been successful! It is an awesome beer, the best I have made! It took 2 and a...

    Wyeast 3789 Trappist Blend

Hi all, I have just got my hands on a smack pack of Wyeast 3789 Trappist Blend. From what I have read, it is the Orval yeast. I was hoping to get some feedback on this yeast from anyone who may have brewed with it recently. It would be nice to know how long fermentation takes. Also, I am...

    Golden Promise

Gidday Ausdb, I am in northern Vic. I had a look at Cryer Malt's website but there was no mention of GP. I could not find any contact details for Gryphon Brewing. Is that a retail outlet? If so, do you have contact details. Goossey

    Golden Promise

Thanks Berazafi, the price is good but I was hoping to get around 5 kg initially for 1 brew. I may then be looking for a larger quantity if the results are good. Goossey

    Golden Promise

Hello fellow brewers, I am interested in scoring some Golden Promise. My usual supplier, G & G, don't stock it anymore. I have Googled the name but can't seem to find any retailers stocking it. So tell me, where can one score some GP? Goossey

    Kegging Setups

Thanks for the positive feedback fellas. Muga, I did consider the PVC pipe option after seeing your nice set up in an earlier post. I may get around to modifying it one day, but I am happy for the moment not to tamper with things. Bugwan, there is a hole in the back of the chest freezer and...

    Kegging Setups

Yes it is a small pain to change a keg. I didn't give a lot of thought to the cooling system when I planned the set up, just made sure I could fit 4 x 5 gallon and 2 x 3 gallon kegs in. I have to disconnect the pump and move the bucket out to change a keg. It is a small price to pay. Here is a...

    Kegging Setups

Hello fellow brewers, well I finally have my set up complete. I must give a HUGE thanks to Kenny for supplying many of the items. He deserves a big pat on the back for these items but also for the advice he was only too happy to give. Font was from Ebay, taps were from Ventmatic. Kegs were...

    Survey: Kegs From U.s.

16 kegs (not all for me) ordered from BD at the end of Jan 06. First box arrived 2 weeks ago. The last today. All in very good condition and holding pressure. I know BD have been under fire here recently (seemingly for good reason), but I am very happy with the product and service. Goossey

    Converted Chest Freezer Question

Thanks fellas for your responses. Is it difficult to pump glycol through the font? I should point out that I am no handyman. Craig
