This might sound a bit coarse but for 20 years I've been cleaning my plastic fermenter by soaking with hot water and dish washer powder. After this it is washed out well and then rinsed with boiling water. Might sound primitive but I have only ever had 2 bad brews and temperature was the problem...

Just had some time in India. Tried ten different beers and only one of them was as bad as VB. Make some really nice whisky as well

Hello all Winter has struck hard on the mid north coast of NSW and the old electric blanket is struggling to keep the brew keg warm. I'm going to replace it but what is better - an immersion heater, a heater belt or a heater pad. Any thoughts? Ta Rob
